isvarah sarva-bhutanamhrd-dese 'rjuna tisthatibhramayan sarva-bhutaniyantrarudhani mayayaThe Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy. (Gita 18.61)
My dear Lord Gauranga I can not make even one person chant 64 rounds on my own but if you direct such jivas from within they will understand Your intense desire they to do so, thus they may obey You and greatly benefit
Kindly tell me how you like this?
10:44amVic
sound very ritualistic!
10:48amVic
why just 64? and why on a japa-jap? Surely the inner melodies are not opened to us while we're fiddling with little round beads on a string?
10:52amVic
the difference between baranyatmak and dhuhyatmak forms of worship are poles apart
sorry ... dhunyatmak
both are sanskriti
so ............ payonidhi, what is your view?
10:54amMe
no no this may seem ritualistic in the beginning, but it is spiritual medicin
the point is to chant on beads and in kirtana as much as possible
10:55amVic
Bhai-ji ....... are u aware of the diff between baranyatmak & dhunyatmak forms of worship?
10:56amMe
on japa because sastra says so are you aware of this?
10:56amVic
well aware
i hv been an assoc of iskcon since 1972
10:57amMe
but you asked? a question you alreayd know the answer to ? or just testing me
10:57amVic
what we call in Australia - a FOLK member
10:57amMe
so you know Srila Prabhupada encouraged constant chanting
10:57amVic
that was his style
10:57amMe
so am I that is all a very simple thing
yes so we sould try to follow
what you mentioned is internal and external worship, the external should become internal also
10:59amVic
so ......... u subscribe to the baranyatmak form of worship. this may be fine for you (at the moment) ........ however, did you guru ever disclose to you the powers of dhunyatmak worship?
10:59amMe
yes
both internal and externa;l is there
10:59amVic
I prefer that method
(dhun)
11:00amMe
internal can not be done properly without 64 rounds
11:00amVic
according to whom?
11:00amMe
all our acaryas
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada is very specific:
pratyah laksha-nama grahana na karile patita vyaktiganera visaya-bhoga pravritti vriddhi paya, takhana ara tahara shri gaurasunderarera seva karite pare na.

"Those who don't accept this vow of chanting 100,000 names daily, fall down even more although they were fallen in the first place (due to the contamination of Kali-yuga). Thus their propensity for enjoying the senses and sense-objects continually and steadily increases and ultimately they are not able to render any kind of service even to the most merciful Lord Gaurasundera.
this is the medicin given by Lord Gauranga
we should try to take the full dose
smaller dose will do some help, but 64 rounds is Gaurangas dose
does that make sense to you>?
if this interests you I have presented
much siddhanta

I hv known quite a few over the years .... and none of them ever discussed (in detail) the significance of the inner melodies, inner realms, inner path, inner light, and inner wisdom. this is why I never "bowed-down to them.
I have met great orators, speakers, those who have conditioned their minds with the memorized versus of shastra ... but NONE of them had claim over the inner wisdom - that which I cherish and that which is the most elusive.
11:05amVic
Chanting japa with my tongue, and fiddling with beads with my fingers in a bag is a very tasteless pursuit (for me) .... however, I recognise your right of worship, and the happiness u glean from it .... so pls dont misinterpret my words ....
I do not mean any offense to you and your sentiments
11:06amMe
no no not any offense taken
11:06amVic
in fact ......... some of the kindest and nicest people know, just happen to be krishna devotees
11:07amMe
because we are sick due to Maya it seems to much medicin, but as we keep chanting gradually the desease of maya will disappear
the question is are we willing to take the proper dose given by Gauranga
11:08amVic
ultimately ... the question remains, with our limited "free-will", have we made the correct choices? only time ... and karmas will tell!
11:08amMe
NoI 7: The holy name, character, pastimes and activities of Kṛṣṇa are all transcendentally sweet like sugar candy. Although the tongue of one afflicted by the jaundice of avidyā [ignorance] cannot taste anything sweet, it is wonderful that simply by carefully chanting these sweet names every day, a natural relish awakens within his tongue, and his disease is gradually destroyed at the root.

NoI 8: The essence of all advice is that one should utilize one's full time — twenty-four hours a day — in nicely chanting and remembering the Lord's divine name, transcendental form, qualities and eternal pastimes, thereby gradually engaging one's tongue and mind. In this way one should reside in Vraja [Goloka Vṛndāvana dhāma] and serve Kṛṣṇa under the guidance of devotees. One should follow in the footsteps of the Lord's beloved devotees, who are deeply attached to His devotional service.

In my view ........ the need of the hour is to address the simple most basic truths and needs for the general public ........ the people at large ... our brothers and sisters. no matter how fallen, no matter how blighted their condition may be .... the need of the hour is to address 3 basic principles.
(1) Earth care
(2) People care
(3) Fair share
It is by these 3 principles I conduct my life .... the matter of worship (I believe) is deeply a personal choice.
I have never felt comfortable "preaching" when there is still so much work to be done in my own back yard!
11:21amVic
The life of a preacher, or spiritual advocate is a challenging one. some people are cut-out for it, others are not .... I belong to the latter group!
11:23amVic
BTW ..... I have no objections if you wish to publish our conversation on your blog. Pls send me a link once its done!

you are close to Ganga?
11:50amVic
Nope ... I've established my home in the beautiful Kullu valley ... at exactly 1 mile altitude! It is a subtrpoical; c;imate, with smow in the winter and (for 2 months) and snow capped mountain peaks surrounding the upper reaches of the valley for 8 months of the year. My home is nearby the river Beas - in fact, quite close to its source.
sorry ,.... my typing is full of mis-spellings! apologies to the readers, who have to decipher my nonsense!
