Glory glory to Lord Gaura and Lord Nitai who descended to this world! Kindly picking up the drowning souls They placed them in the strong boat of Lord Krsna’s holy names and delivered them.

1) The ocean of repeated birth and death is horrible and wide. The people of the world were drowning in it. The fallen souls were distraught. No one could swim to the shore.
2) Even Brahma, Siva, Vyasa, Sukadeva, Narada, and all the demigods and sages could not find that ocean's shore. To the fallen people, Lord Gaura and Lord Nitai gave the gift of ecstatic spiritual love. Who has limitless mercy like Them?
3) Will there ever be another avatara like Them? They were surrounded by a host of rasika devotees. Remembering Them, poorGhanasyama is overcome. He feels as if a javelin is pushed into his heart.


This strong boat of the holy name is chanting one lakh daily , this is the strong boat Lord Caitanya and Lord Nityananda Prabhu has given, they asked everyone to please chant this amount.In other ages one had to sit in caves and mountains and tolerate so much of course Hari das thakura also at one point was chanting in caves to be left alone .


From Prema-vilasa Chapter 17: Shrila Narottama to Shrila Kaviraja on the direct process to achieve love of Krishna:

prabhura achaye sankhya tina laksha nama;
eka laksha bhaktagane kaila kripa dana.

"Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu standard was to chant 3,00,000 names everyday. But He very mercifully awarded His devotees the process of chanting a minimum of 1,00,000 names of Krishna daily.

shri rupa kaila laksha granthera varnana;
tathapiha karila laksha nama grahana.

"Shrila Rupa Goswami has explained and quoted from over 100,000 different scriptures. Even though he was such a great scholar and devotee he himself chanted 100,000 Holy Names daily.

dasa gosvamira ache laksha pramana;
ei mata sarva bhakta kare harinama.

"Shrila Raghunatha dasa Goswami also rigidly followed the instructions of Lord Gauranga by chanting 100,000 names daily. In this way all the devotees chanted the Holy Names of the Lord daily without exception.

gauranga shrimukhe rupe kahila vaishnave;
laksha nama sankhya kari avasya karibe.

"Lord Gauranga gave the following instructions to all the Vaishnavas Himself and also through Shrila Rupa Goswami: Please compulsorily chant 100,000 names of Krishna daily."

We have seen devotees that chant 1 lakh and 2 lakhs names daily, this is the strong boat of Krsnas holy name, if we can go to bed by 8pm and get up at 2 am there is plenty of time to chant 64 rounds ,even with a full morning program and or a job,Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura showed this in his practical life in Puri where he had so much responsibility.

I do not know how much nectar the two syllables 'Krish-na' have produced. When the holy name of Krishna is chanted, it appears to dance within the mouth. We then desire many, many mouths. When that name enters the holes of the ears, we desire many millions of ears. And when the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert.

Brhan Naradiya Purana
The characteristics of Krishna are understood to be a storehouse of transcendental love. Although that storehouse of love certainly came with Krishna when He was present, it was sealed. But when Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came with His associates of the Panca-tattva, they broke the seal and plundered the storehouse to taste transcendental love of Krishna. The more they tasted it, the more their thirst for it grew.
Although the members of the Panca-tattva plundered the storehouse of love of Godhead and ate and distributed its contents, there was no scarcity, for this wonderful storehouse is so complete that as the love is distributed, the supply increases hundreds of times.

All the Panca tattva members also taught this chanting one lakh ,64 rounds daily,as it was the standard of Lord Gauranga
For those who have accepted the boat of the lotus feet of the Lord, who is the shelter of the cosmic manifestation and is famous as Murari, the enemy of the Mura demon, the ocean of the material world is like the water contained in a calf's hoof-print. Their goal is param padam, Vaikuntha, the place where there are no material miseries, not the place where there is danger at every step.

Chanting only 16 rounds how can one ever advance to the level of sattvika Bhava? Yes controlling the mind and senses is part of this chanting .Vaco vega manasa krodha vega , without chanting the Mahamantra, brahmacari observance will be a show only, in the Caitanya Upanisad we see how Lord Brahma taught Pippalada in the glories of Lord Caitanya and the holy name.
Sri Chaitanya Upanishad

1. Thereafter, Pippalada, with sacrificial fuel in hand, approached Lord Brahma and said, “O My Lord, in this world, please tell me what is the real auspiciousness?”

2. Lord Brahma said, “Always be very pleased with only austerity, celibacy and control of the mind.”

3. He, Pippalada, becoming pure in mind, again approached his father and said: “O my Lord Brahma, in the age of Kali Yuga, people are covered due to sin. How can they obtain liberation?”

4. Please tell me which deity or which mantra is worthy of service.

5. Lord Brahma replied, “I will tell you the confidential truth. On the bank of the Jahnavi, in Navadvipa Dhama, which is known as Goloka, Govinda with two arms, golden complexion, the Supersoul, the greatest Personality, the greatest Yogi, the Supreme Being, Who is transcendental to the modes of nature, and Whose form is truth, will appear to manifest devotional service (bhakti) in this world. These verses describe that.

6. The one Supreme Personality of Godhead, who appears in a variety of transcendental forms, is also known as Gaura. He has also appeared in various complexions such as red, blackish and white. He shall appear in the form of Gaura. He Himself is Chaitanya, the embodiment of cit-sakti. He shall appear in the form of a devotee, to bestow devotional service to the Lord and He is also to be known by devotional service.

7. I offer my respectful obeisances unto He who is to be understood by Vedanta, who is Krishna, the Supersoul, whose form is conscious of everything. Obeisances again and again unto Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

8. By knowing Him, who is to be known by Vedanta, who is the oldest personality, who is Himself, Chaitanya, the source of the universe and the greatest, one can overcome death. There is no other means for going beyond Maya.

9. By the mantra, whose source is His own name, the Lord pleases everything.

10. His superior energies are hladini (bliss), and samvit (knowledge).

11. He chants the original mantra consisting of Hari, Krishna and Rama, in other words, the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra.

12. He who removes the knot in the heart in the form of material desire, is called Hari. The union by the remembrance of the root krs- and the affix -na, is the hymn of praise - Krishna. He who gives pleasure to everything is the form of bliss - Rama. Here is such a verse.

13. The Maha-Mantra is confidential, transcendental and can be understood only by devotional service, (bhakti-yoga).

14. These sixteen names are supremely beautiful. Those who chant them regularly are sober persons who are able to cross beyond the illusory energy. There is no other means. One should repeat this maha-mantra which is the supreme secret, regularly.

15. Chaitanya is Sankarsana, Vasudeva, and the Supersoul. He is the cause of Rudra (Siva), Sakra (Indra), Brhaspati, all the demigods, all moving and non-moving entities, and everything which is temporary and external. Herein are the celebrated verses.

16. Whatever one enjoys which is temporary is known as an effect and is perishable.

17. It is said that the spirit soul is eternal. He is the cause of that which is perishable and also beyond that which is perishable.

18. He who is beyond that which is perishable and imperishable is the Supreme Person. The name of the Supreme Truth, the cause of all causes is Sri Chaitanya.

19. Anyone who develops love for Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, worships Him or meditates on Him is freed from sin, becomes purified, understands the Supreme Truth, and overcomes lamentation. For him, there is no other destination.
