My former ISKCON Guru once stated Sanjaya was a blind person like Dhrtarastra and materially attached to his master,, I totally disagreed (for which I had to relocate to another temple )
First of all Sanjaya chastised Dhrtarastra for not accepting Krsnas advise before the Battle of Kuruksetra,, he said I am your chariot driver so I have to also advise what it right for you .He was also a disciple of Srila Vyasadeva ,,the last verses of the Bhagavad Gita as it is clearly describes Sanjayas position. You can clearly read Prabhupadas purport in that regard . Sanjaya was given the vision to see the entire Bhagavad Gita be spoken and what was happening on the Battle of Kuruksetra ,,Srila Vyasadeva had offered to give this visition to Drhtarastra who is actually his son ,, but he refused to know the truth so Srila Vyasadeva give this vision to his disciple Sanjaya,, as well as giving him Trikala Jna vision of past present and future .We should all know the last 5 verses of the Bhagavad Gita also and understand how an exalted Vaisnava Sanjaya was ,and he was very dear to Krsna and his Guru Srila Vyasadeva
Chapter 18, Verse 74
Sanjaya said: Thus have I heard the conversation of two great souls, Krsna and Arjuna. And so wonderful is that message that my hair is standing on end.
Chapter 18, Verse 75
By the mercy of Vyasa, I have heard these most confidential talks directly from the master of all mysticism, Krsna, who was speaking personally to Arjuna.
Chapter 18, Verse 76
O King, as I repeatedly recall this wondrous and holy dialogue between Krsna and Arjuna, I take pleasure, being thrilled at every moment.
Chapter 18, Verse 77
O King, when I remember the wonderful form of Lord Krsna, I am struck with even greater wonder, and I rejoice again and again.
Chapter 18, Verse 78
Wherever there is Krsna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion.
