today is the Apperanceday of HH Bhakti Svarupa Damodara Maharaja, I think he is most well-known for his conversation with Srila Prabhupada in the book Life comes from life. He also pointed out to Srila Prabhupada some of the many changes done to his books and Srila Prabhupada did not like these book changes. HH Bhakti Svarupa Damodara headed up BI, Bhaktivedanta Institute that has its main branch I believe still at ISKCON Juhu, my main association with HH Bhakti Svarupa Damodara Maharaja was in 1994 when I stayed at ISKCON Berkley and Maharaja stayed there nearby with some other devotees from BI, and he would give classes, Srimad Bhagavatam classes at times. Bhakti Svarupa Damodara Maharaja thanked me for distributing so many of Srila Prabhupada's books in Berkley, that time I was distributing every day in Telegraph Avenue there and distributing 100 to 200 books, I really did not have much association with Maharaja outside of that but he is a very noteworthy Vaisnava and he had a lot of respect for my Diksa Guru Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja and Srila Narayana Maharaja loved him very much, as he was a Vaisnava and could appreciate an exalted Vaisnava like Srila Narayana Maharaja, so you will see in the Vaisnava calendar also of Gaudiya Samiti he is honored always, he was a wellwisher to all and wanted Krsna consciousness to spread all over the world, As you might know, thanks to him, there is also ISKCON in Manipur a pure Vaisnava state, properly the only one in the world. Arjuna had a wife and son in Manipur and some of our Vaisnava Acaryas also preached there
