I recall when I saw the JAS edition of Bhagavad Gita as it is I did not like it, not sure what year maybe 1985 or so maybe earlier.But I recall a meeting in 1987 in ISKCON Vrindavana where Jadayadvaita Swami had called devotees to a meeting to discuss the changes he made.And many devotees attended because they all did not like the changes ,the meeting was held in a Gurukula class sometime in Kartika in 1987 ,, I recall devotees standing outside the class room and discussing the the changes already .I gave Jaydvaita Swami one example of one the changes he made to Bhagavad Gita as it is that I thought was to bogus and outragous It is Bhagavad Gita 3.11
Chapter 3: Karma-yoga

devan bhavayatanena
te deva bhavayantu vah
parasparam bhavayantah
sreyah param avapsyatha
SYNONYMS
devan—demigods; bhavayata—having been pleased; anena—by this sacrifice; te—those; devah—the demigods; bhavayantu—will please; vah—you; parasparam—mutual; bhavayantah—pleasing one another; sreyah—benediction; param—the supreme; avapsyatha—do you achieve.
TRANSLATION
The demigods, being pleased by sacrifices, will also please you; thus nourishing one another, there will reign general prosperity for all.

Synonyms
devān — demigods; bhāvayatā — having pleased; anena — by this sacrifice; te — those; devāḥ — demigods; bhāvayantu — will please; vaḥ — you; parasparam — mutually; bhāvayantaḥ — pleasing one another; śreyaḥ — benediction; param — the supreme; avāpsyatha — you will achieve.
Translation
The demigods, being pleased by sacrifices, will also please you, and thus, by cooperation between men and demigods, prosperity will reign for all.
Srila Prabhupada clearly write thus nourishing one another ,so Jayadvaita Swami said this nourishing makes no sense that is why I changed it, the demigods are not nourished by the humans sacrifice they do not need them .I was thinking what an ignorant statement there are many examples where demigods are nourished by the offerings ,the Pitas also forefathers need the Pinda offerings to be free from Karma and they get human bodies and freedom from hell if their children offer Pinda Visnu Mahaprasadam especially in Gaya and are promoted to Vaikuntha simply by Pinda offerings when done in Gaya .
So here is an example from 1968 where the sloka was read out to Srila Prabhupada :
Bhagavad-gītā 3.11-19

Los Angeles, December 27, 1968
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: "The demigods, being pleased by sacrifices, will also please you. Thus nourishing one another there will reign general prosperity for all [Bg. 3.11]."
Prabhupāda: Yes. This is very important point. The godless society, they are thinking that everything is being done by nature. Nature is there, but there is a controller of nature. Just like this electricity. Electricity is natural power but there is a powerhouse and there is a resident engineer. Similarly, everything supplied by nature, water supply, heat supply, air, so there is a controller and he is called demigod. They are all appointed servants by the Supreme Lord. It is simply foolishness that nature is working automatically. This is rascaldom. They do not know. The so-called scientists who are thinking that everything is going on automatically.
Yes, it is going on automat... Just like the government affairs are going on automatically. A child can say that everything is going on automatically, but a person who knows the government, the constitution, he knows how departmental managements are going on. That is the difference between the so-called foolish person and one who knows the things. One who knows the things, he knows that everything is controlled by a person. That person is called demigod.
So we have to satisfy. Therefore the yajña, sacrifice, is recommend. So that is mentioned here, that "Demigods, being pleased by sacrifices..." Just like to the income tax officer if you pay regularly your income tax then there is no trouble. Everything will go on. Otherwise, the state will enforce to exact income tax. So we are receiving heat from the sun. Similarly, we are receiving rains. Don't you think that we have to pay some tax? That is required. That is enjoined in the Vedic literature. You must. Therefore so many sacrifices are recommended. If you do not offer those sacrifices, then there will be irregularity of rain, irregularity of heat, excessive heat, excessive cold, and people will suffer. This is the process. They do not know it. Read it, purport.
If there was a mistake in his own book would Srila Prabhupada have not corrected it that time ? He did not because that is what he wrote : "thus nourishing one another"
It is in black and white, Srila Prabhupada also gave the same translation in his Bengali to English translation of Gita Gan from Bengali into English in 1960 ,so this was a contemplated translation Srila Prabhupada had from a long time

there was never any question of changing Srila Prabhupadas books in the name of socalled editing ,it was never there in any of Prabhupadas instructiones or legal documents ,you print and reprint ,that is all
So is there need to say much more ? Still I gave Jayadvaita Swami an example from Srimad bhagavatam where Indra was starving because he was hidding in the Manasa Sarovara lake in the Himalyas due to Sin personified chasing him and this sacred lake of Sri Laxmidevi was impossible for Papapurusha to enter to give Indra his karmic reaction for killing the Uttama adhikari Vritasura though he appeared to be a demon

āsasāda vṛṣākapim
SYNONYMS
śrī-śukaḥ uvāca—Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said; evam—thus; sañcoditaḥ—being encouraged; vipraiḥ—by the brāhmaṇas; marutvān—Indra; ahanat—killed; ripum—his enemy, Vṛtrāsura; brahma-hatyā—the sinful reaction for killing a brāhmaṇa; hate—was killed; tasmin—when he (Vṛtrāsura); āsasāda—approached; vṛṣākapim—Indra, who is also named Vṛṣākapi.
TRANSLATION
Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Encouraged by the words of the sages, Indra killed Vṛtrāsura, and when he was killed the sinful reaction for killing a brāhmaṇa [brahma-hatyā] certainly took shelter of Indra.
PURPORT
After killing Vṛtrāsura, Indra could not surpass the brahma-hatyā, the sinful reactions for killing a brāhmaṇa. Formerly he had killed one brāhmaṇa, Viśvarūpa, out of circumstantial anger, but this time, following the advice of the sages, he killed another brāhmaṇa purposely. Therefore the sinful reaction was greater than before. Indra could not be relieved from the reaction simply by performing sacrifices for atonement. He had to undergo a severe series of sinful reactions, and when he was freed by such suffering, the brāhmaṇas allowed him to perform the horse sacrifice. The planned execution of sinful deeds on the strength of chanting the holy name of the Lord or undergoing prāyaścitta, atonement, cannot give relief to anyone, even to Indra or Nahuṣa. Nahuṣa was officiating for Indra while Indra, absent from heaven, was going here and there to gain release from his sinful reactions.

tām—the sinful reaction; dadarśa—he saw; anudhāvantīm—chasing; cāṇḍālīm—a woman of the lowest class; iva—like; rūpiṇīm—taking a form; jarayā—because of old age; vepamāna-aṅgīm—whose bodily limbs were trembling; yakṣma-grastām—infected with tuberculosis; asṛk-paṭām—whose clothes were covered with blood; vikīrya—scattering; palitān—grayed; keśān—hair; tiṣṭha tiṣṭha—wait, wait; iti—thus; bhāṣiṇīm—calling; mīna-gandhi—the smell of fish; asu—whose breath; gandhena—by the odor; kurvatīm—bringing about; mārga-dūṣaṇam—the pollution of the whole street.
TRANSLATION
Indra saw personified sinful reaction chasing him, appearing like a caṇḍāla woman, a woman of the lowest class. She seemed very old, and all the limbs of her body trembled. Because she was afflicted with tuberculosis, her body and garments were covered with blood. Breathing an unbearable fishy odor that polluted the entire street, she called to Indra, “Wait! Wait!”
PURPORT
When a person is afflicted with tuberculosis, he often vomits blood, which makes his garments bloody.

nabho gato diśaḥ sarvāḥ
sahasrākṣo viśāmpate
prāg-udīcīṁ diśaṁ tūrṇaṁ
praviṣṭo nṛpa mānasam
SYNONYMS
nabhaḥ—to the sky; gataḥ—going; diśaḥ—to the directions; sarvāḥ—all; sahasra-akṣaḥ—Indra, who is endowed with one thousand eyes; viśāmpate—O King; prāk-udīcīm—to the northeast; diśam—direction; tūrṇam—very speedily; praviṣṭaḥ—entered; nṛpa—O King; mānasam—the lake known as Mānasa-sarovara.
TRANSLATION
O King, Indra first fled to the sky, but there also he saw the woman of personified sin chasing him. This witch followed him wherever he went. At last he very quickly went to the northeast and entered the Mānasa-sarovara Lake.

saḥ—he (Indra); āvasat—lived; puṣkara-nāla-tantūn—in the network of the fibers of a lotus stem; alabdha-bhogaḥ—not getting any material comfort (practically starving for all material needs); yat—which; iha—here; agni-dūtaḥ—the fire-god messenger; varṣāṇi—celestial years; sāhasram—one thousand; alakṣitaḥ—invisible; antaḥ—within his heart; sañcintayan—always thinking of; brahma-vadhāt—from the killing of a brāhmaṇa; vimokṣam—liberation.
TRANSLATION
Always thinking of how he could be relieved from the sinful reaction for killing a brāhmaṇa, King Indra, invisible to everyone, lived in the lake for one thousand years in the subtle fibers of the stem of a lotus. The fire-god used to bring him his share of all yajñas, but because the fire-god was afraid to enter the water, Indra was practically starving.

The Yajnas where performed by humans and Indra could have eaten that Prasadam of Visnu offered to him however because he was hidding inside the sacred Manasa Sarovara lake in the stem of a lotus by dint of his mystic powers Agni being fire obvious could nto enter water, when Fire enters water it gets destroyed ,so Agni could not enter the lake to give Indra his share of the sacrifice, thus Srila Prabhupadas nourishing one another is correctSee the source image

Commentary by Sri Vishvanatha Chakravarthi Thakur of Gaudiya Sampradaya:
This verse explains how the yajna yields all desires. “By this yajna (anena), please the devatas. You make them pleased by the sacrifice. The devatas also will please all of you.” Bhava indicates affection in this verse.
Commentary by Sri Ramanuja of Sri Sampradaya:
3.11 ‘By this,’ i.e., by this sacrifice, you propitiate the gods who form My body and have Me as their Self. For Sri Krsna will say later on: ‘For I am the only enjoyer and the only Lord of Sacrifices’ (9.24). Worshipped by sacrifices, may these gods, who have Me as their Self, nourish you with food, drink etc., which are required also for their worship. Thus, supporting each other, may you attain the highest good called Moksa (release).
Commentary by Sri Sridhara Swami of Rudra Sampradaya:
How does the sacrifice yield desired enjoyments? Lord Krishna answers this here. By yagna or worship and appeasement one pleases the devas or demi- gods, who in turn please the offerer with prosperity and abundance. Thus mutually gratifying each other both humans and the devas will be happy and attained the highest good.
Commentary by Sri Keshava Kashmiri of Kumara Sampradaya:
To answer the question how will yagna or worship fulfill one’s prayers Lord Krishna reponds that the devas or demi-gods nourished by the oblations offered will in turn mutually reciprocate fulfilling all one’s prayers with properity and abundance. Gratifying each other as such human and deva will all attain the fulfillment of their desires.
If we look at Sri Kesava Kasmiris purport we see Srila Prabhupada has completly understand the relationship between the demigods and Humans, whereas Jayadvaita Swami made a very dangerous and subtle unauthorized change to Srila Prabhupadas translation of this sloka
