“There is no doubt about it, to distribute books is our most important activity.” (to Ramesvara, August 3, 1973)

The most important thing is that you must follow all of the rules and regulations very strictly.” (to Tapana Misra Dasa, May 26, 1975)
“There is no doubt about it, to distribute books is our most important activity.” (to Ramesvara, August 3, 1973)

CC Adi lila 7.164 purport
Now that the International Society for Krishna Consciousness has taken up this task of preaching the cult of Lord Caitanya, its members should not only construct temples in every town and village of the globe but also distribute the books that have already been written and further increase the number of books. Both distribution of books and construction of temples must continue side by side in parallel lines.

CC Madhya lila 19.132 purport

It is certainly not good to write literature for money or reputation, but to write books and publish them for the enlightenment of the general populace is real service to the Lord. That was Çréla Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté’s opinion, and he specifically told his disciples to write books. He actually preferred to publish books rather than establish temples. Temple construction is meant for the general populace and neophyte devotees, but the business of advanced and empowered devotees is to write books, publish them and distribute them widely. According to Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté Öhäkura, distributing literature is like playing on a great mådaìga. Consequently we always request members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to publish as many books as possible and distribute them widely throughout the world. By thus following in the footsteps of Çréla Rüpa Gosvämé, one can become a rüpänuga devotee.

Srila Prabhupadas quote:;Consequently we always request members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to publish as many books as possible and distribute them widely throughout the world. By thus following in the footsteps of Srila Rüpa Gosvämi , one can become a rüpänuga devotee

This is very significant because we have seen some devotees that distributed Srila Prabhupadas books for many years get a greater taste for chanting and grdually enter the path of ragamarg...

This is most certainly because of the mercy of Srila Prabhupada ,and Lord Gauranga, those who are neglectfull in sadhana bhakti ,while ditributing books will only slowly get this result, even while distributing Srila Prabhupadas books(they are not properly preparing the heart for Krsna to sit there)

"My advice to you under the circumstances is that at least for one hour you
must all go to have Sankirtana outside on the streets or in the park. That
is your life and soul, first business. The next business is completing the
chanting of 16 rounds every day. The next business is your editing, and if
you find extra time, then you can attend the temple ceremonies. Otherwise
you can stop these activities, but outdoor kirtana, your editing work and
chanting of 16 rounds must be done. Outdoor kirtana must be done, even at
the cost of suspending all editorial work. That is your first and foremost
business. Temple worship is not so important. If need be, the whole temple
can be locked, but the outdoor kirtana cannot be stopped."
