Dear Disciples and Followers of Sripada BV Narayana Maharaja,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga.

We, the Executive Committee of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission, wish to hereby express our bereavement on hearing of the passing of Sripada Narayana Maharaja.

As a disciple of His Divine Grace Bhaktiprajnana Kesava Gosvami Maharaja, who was the Godbrother and sannyasa guru of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya of ISKCON, Sripada Narayana Maharaja had been a long time acquaintance of our Srila Prabhupada. He assisted him in his early days in the United States, assistance for which Srila Prabhupada expressed his appreciation.

At this time we remember Sripada Narayana Maharaja as a dedicated and powerful preacher. He traveled around the world to deliver the message of Srimad-Bhagavatam and spread Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s mission. He also translated important Vaisnava texts.

Sripada Narayana Maharaja lived a long and fruitful life in devotional service and was an inspiration to many. We pray the Lord will give comfort to his disciples and followers in this difficult time.

On behalf of all the members of ISKCON, we offer him our respectful obeisances.

I have never heard of this before. Is it anywhere documented? Our beloved Srila Prabhupada used to say that he started the mission singlehandedly. Can anyone enlighten me if I (Srila Prabhupada) was wrong?

Srila Prabhupada met Narayana Maharaja in 1947 and his Guru Bhakti Prajana Kesava Maharaja told him to always serve Abbhay Prabhu (Srila Prabhupadas ,grhastha name) in any way he could..when Srila Prabhupada took varnaprastha, Narayana Maharaja came many times to see Srila Prabhupada in Radha Damodara temple.Srila Prabhupada would use the library at Kesavji Gaudiya math sometimes for sastric references.Srila Prabhupada also brought a Deity of Lord Caitanya with him to Mathura (he had installed in Jahnsi), this beautiful deity of Mahaprabhu is still worshipped to this day along with Radha Binodbihari.
Narayana Maharaja did the yajna when Srila Prabhupada took sannyasa from his godbrother Bhakti Prajana Kesava Maharaja.Narayana Maharaja told me once that Srila Prabhupada asked him to come with him to USA, but he apologized that his Guru had asked him to take care of the temple in Mathura and preaching in Vrindavan area and UP
so he could not go.When Srila Prabhupada was in USA he requested Narayana Maharaja to send him some devotional clothing , for the devotees, Kartals and few other things, including VRINDAVAN PEERA (a sweet) .Narayana Maharaja compiled a small book with many of the letters he got from Srila Prabhupada ...also many letters where send after Srila Prabhupadas going back to Krsna on the request of Satsvarupa Maharaja , but these where sadly burned in some accidental fire in Gita Nagari (this was part of the Prabhupada lilamrita project).One of the letters that stands out is where Srila Prabhupada shows his great love and affection for Narayana Maharaja.Srila Prabhupada also called for him when he was about to leave this world.He comforted Srila Prabhupada
not to worry about the future but leave it in Krsnas hands.He performed the last rites for Srila Prabhupada and also beautifully sang Ye anilo prema dhana, so his presence at those
crucial days at Krsna Balarama temple was a big comfort.He was invited for many years to speak in ISCKON Vrindavan and Mayapure, until there was some misunderstandings in the early 90th.I once asked Narayana Maharaja about placing Srila Prabhupada in samadhi and he humbly stated, Krsna das Bababji was also there and was so much senior to himself, but he did not know about such vaisnava rituals so this is why Srila Prabhupada asked him.He had much love for Srila Prabhupada and I can testifie to this..Many that did not meet him have speculated in many ways...they did not know him.He once told me in Washington DC asking me to sit next to him.Some claim and accuse I have come to give more
than Srila Prabhupada:" No he is my superior and my Siksa Guru and dear most friend, I have simply come to give little water to those whoes bhakti lata has dried up" He had so much vaisnava humility. and was a very exalted vaisnava...Having had association of him, Gaura Govinda Maharaja and Aindra Prabhu was a great blessing for me...

We should see that Srila Prabhupada send Narayana Maharaja

I went to preach in one place and some devotees asked me who was my Guru, I said Harikesa was my first Guru but he had fallen down and left with

ISKCON money and married his own disciple.I said actually my real Guru is Narayana Maharaja because he has taught me many things, immidiatly

it became an alarm.It was something I had said in confidence.But Narayana Maharaja initiated me and gave me the name Paramananda das and asked

me to chant 64 rounds daily and preach pure Krsna consciouness.And live a pure KC lifestyle in all respects.

 In ISKCON there is so much hatred against Narayana Maharaja, I have seen that in many ISKCON leaders and Gurus even, and that reflects into the rest

of ISKCON.Narayana Maharaja was bad for mundane business ,he chastised his own disciples when they used the instituion simply for wealth, and he did

the same with ISKCON.He even went so far to say that ISKCON leaders are mostly all just interested in money..we see in ISKCON there is so many 

schemes of laziness and money making.I saw recently even some 24 hours kirtana program was done in a very business like way, this is very sad.

I have seen some preaching where the farther collected so much money from a congregation and build a huge farm, then his oldest son took 

over the business and is also milking the congregation.And their Guru is famous for not completing 16 rounds...these matters are beyond insitutional

politics.They are a matter of sanity and properly following.So I am very happy that the GBC has written a nice  letter .Srila Prabhupada was so close

with his godbrother Bhakti Prajnana Kesava Maharaja, and with Narayana Maharaja ,but we in ISKCON spoiled this relationship to Kesavaji Gaudiya

Math in Mathura, and we should be very much ashamed of this.Many devotees have left ISKCON and of them many have even lost faith in ISKCON and

ISKCON leaders and managers, because they do not teach pure bhakti, they do not know what it is.Yes I disagreed with NM over some issues like 

Kalki Avatar , the jiva issue, Ramacarita Manasa and how soon a Guru can take disciples etc, but Narayana Maharaja never allowed car pujas in his Math

,he never allowed the weddings of nondevotees at a temple,Satya Narayana pujas or other money schemes.Or temple Giftshop to be for anyones

 personal profit.

.He never had a Bingo hall in the temple

like we see in ISKCON Brooklyn.So who are any of us to point fingers at him...which person has chanted 64 rounds daily and more since 1945 and attended

Parikramas of Navadvipa and Vrindavan every year since that time and later led them.In his old age he travelled all over the world preaching. Though

 he was most kind to me

I did not like some of his disciples that showed so much hatred towards ISKCON, he never thought in this way, never ever.Maybe I was a fool to leave

his sanga in 2004, but I did so because I had a dream of Srila Prabhupada to ask me to help ISKCON and serve in ISKCON again....and I know

 Srila Prabhupada likes to see devotees under one banner spread the sankirtana movement of Lord Gauranga...Actually I never left ISKCON because

I always worshipped Srila Prabhupada, read his books and distributed them and did my utmost to follow his instruction.I will not be given position unless

I kiss up to some ISKCON Guru, and I have no such plan, I respect many of whom many are my friends but they are not my Gurus or siksa Gurus.

I am personally just looking to preach pure KC...and nowadays many bogus persons preach it is ok to take grains on Visnutattva apperance days, that is

their ignorance and great rascaldom, and against Srila Prabhupadas teachings..some do not appriciate my preaching and some do, I am just one tiny

jiva and we are all eternal servants of Krsna, Srila Prabhupada and the Guruparampara..yes maybe it is wrong I do not go by the name Paramananda  das.

But it is not so important to me, as I know Narayana Maharaja would not care one way or the other..but what is important is to give up materially motivated

religion and set out to preach..also Narayana Maharaja taught us to chant 64 rounds which is the standard of Lord Caitanya and all our acaryas.

If we want to become sat sisya and some sat Gurus, this chanting of 64 rounds is a must, Srila Prabhupada tried to introduce it..and the order is still

there ,but the bare minimum Srila Prabhupada gave was 4regs and 16 rounds and reading his books an hour or 2 a day.

We should stay in ISKCON or for some return to ISKCON because Srila Prabhupada saved us, we should help where help is needed and reform where it is

needed.A healthy discussion in ISKCON would also come about by discussing the DOM given by Srila Prabhupada, as ISKCON is not just there to

facilitate anyone to stay in power and not expand the sankirtana movement, this complacency is the biggest internal enemy of ISKCON.

ISKCON should no longer be run by business persons, but by pure devotees, and those who are pure can stay as long as they implement pure KC standards

( in our own humble opinion and not abuse others for their own power games).KC is meant to spread a spiritual revolution in the hearts of an impious

 civilization, but this revolution starts with

 our own hearts.Srila Prabhupada said temples are not for eating and sleeping only, but bases from where devotees go and distribute his books and 

do Harinama..Narayana Maharaja was never an enemy of ISKCON and everyone should get this indoctrination out of their minds, as it is simply a falsity

and instituional politics.Those who are business minded only will fight for their postions like cats and dogs...will they give up their " businesses"

and start to preach pure KC day and night? This is our only business...Srila Prabhupada in his introduction to the 1 canto of SB talks about 

"spiritual communism" never "spiritual capitalism" as it would be an Oxymorone,in the words of Jesus Christ :"it is easier for a camel to enter the eyes 

needle ,than for a wealthy

 person to enter the kingdom of God".So for those with much personal wealth they should use it in the propogation of KC otherwise this simply becomes

a heavy anchor around ones own neck...and yes for sannyasis ,money and women is a no no ,the example of Chota Haridas should be always kept in mind.

"Maharaja "does not mean to live in luxury like the Maharajs of former India, it means to be renounced and fully dedicadet to chanting the 

Hare Krishna Maha mantra following the lotusfootsteps of Lord Caitanya that daily chanted 300.000 names ,192 rounds, yes this is mentioned in sastras

like Prema Vilasa, this was also done by Srila Haridas Thakura, this chanting of the Mahamantra is the only real wealth of bonafide sannyasis.

For an ordinary devotee not wellversed in sastra there is no need to take sannyasa ...nor for anyone that fails to chant 64 rounds as instructed

 by Lord Gaura.Such a person will not be abel to properly deliver himself and others.

Srila Prabhupada never favored women to be TP's and GBC's show me one letter and instruction ,this is a very bogus thing. This women lib program

should be cut out..but we have seen one GBC boast to us how qualified the person was he was sending from San Diego to become a TP, and he was simply

a homosexual man, well then even a chaste devotee lady will make a better TP...but we have seen a female TP's falling into illicit sex also with another 

socalled devotee

while married...but in the west we still have to learn we can not bring a dog to the temple (like Kirtananda did and intelligent persons like Devamrta Swami

did not object) and that women should not be TP's and GBC's...However some are and I pray Krsna may protect them.

I never encouraged anyone in ISKCON to take initiation from Narayana Maharaja and to leave ISKCON, I protected against it,for which I was considered 

rather strange, but I did no like the agression of some of Narayana Maharaja disciples towards converting members of ISKCON .Recently I chastised one

Damodara Swami that wanted to give him contacts in UAE for ISKCON devotees, and I told him to simply contact Sri Vallabha Prabhu who ever sees the

preaching there...on behalf of ISKCON...The main instructions I got from Narayana Maharaja was in 1988 and 1989, before some persons destroyed everything

in the name of "Gaudiya math is bad"..Srila Prabhupada did not like the business like mentality of some of his godbrothers nor would he like if one of his sannyasi

disciples engaged in business with ISKCON money (or money he gets as donations and should be ISKCON money not his own).That he has helped

many former ISKCON devotees is a fact and around 10.000 ,mostly not former ISKCON devotees was his disciples.I personally urge all these devotees

that went to Narayana Maharaja to see Srila Prabhupada send them there to learn many things from Narayana Maharaja, now they should kindly return back to   

ISKCON and try to help spread the sankirtana movement all over the world....at least I personally urge all former ISKCON devotees to again distribute

 Srila Prabhupadas books and I know some still are.You can always stay in touch with Srila Prabhupada by reading his books and listening to his lectures:

" he reasons ill...."

Please do not under estimated the potency of Prabhupadavani,Srila Prabhupadas instructions, and any ISKCON temple will be glad to have more devotees

helping the preaching mission.Those who distribute Srila Prabhupadas books develop a special relationship with him, that "outsiders" can never understand.

It is of utmost importance that all ISKCON devotees be respectful of Narayana Maharaja and his disciples so that those

who again wants to serve in ISKCON can do so...and non should be pressured to take reinitiation...It would be a great violation of vaisnava etiquete.Though

some Gurus in ISKCON have claimed Narayana Maharaja reinitiated ISKCON Gurus disciples, I have personally never seen this happen, but when someone

comes to ISKCON ,the pressure is to have anyone and everyone initiated by "my Guru" this kind of KC is very neophyte

Srila Prabhupada wants these devotees back, so there

should be no envious discussions as to why they can not returne..

non of Narayana Maharajas disciples are fit to be acaryas as they even refuse to chant 64 rounds daily, so he has set it up like in ISKCON
