seeing through the eyes of scriptures

Lord Narasimha is the 4th incarnation of Krsna amonng the Dasavatars as described by Jayadeva Goswami, Krsnas 10 incarnations. .Srimad Bhagavatam states He is the 14th (which is a more detailed list:) Canto 1: Creation Chapter 3: Kṛṣṇa Is the Source of All Incarnations Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 1.3.18 caturdaśaḿ nārasiḿhaḿ bibhrad daityendram ūrjitam dadāra karajair ūrāv erakāḿ kaṭa-kṛd yathā SYNONYMS caturdaśam — the fourteenth in the line; nāra-siḿham — the incarnation of the Lord as half-man and half-lion; bibhrat — advented; daitya-indram — the king of the atheists; ūrjitam — strongly built; dadāra — bifurcated; karajaiḥ — by the nails;ūrau — on the lap; erakām — canes; kaṭa-kṛt — carpenter; yathā — just like. TRANSLATION In the fourteenth incarnation, the Lord appeared as Nṛsiḿha and bifurcated the strong body of the atheist Hiraṇyakaśipu with His nails, just as a carpenter pierces cane. Srila Sanatana Goswami has described Lord Narasimha in his Laghubhagavatamrta by Srila Sanatana Goswami: 3.63 to 3.65 There is unlimeted forms of Lord Narasimha as explained in the Narasimha Sahasranama, and many vibhutis, potencies of Lord Narasimha. The last form of Lord Narasimha appeared in Satya yuga in Ahovalam ,in the state of Andhra pradesh in South India to protect Prahlada Maharaja from Hiranyakasipu. In India some are of the opinion that the incarnations of Visnu manifest from the impersonal Brahman, but this is foolishness. As Krsna Himself is the source of not only the impersonal Brahman and all material and spiritual energies: Ete camsa kala ... http://vedabase.net/sb/1/3/28/en Srila Prabhupada has also mentioned that Prahlada took birth in now present Pakistan: http://vedabase.net/cc/antya/9/10/enLaghu Bhagavatamrta 3.96 we also see the statement of Srila Sanatana Goswami that the 25 avatars listend in the 3chapter of 1 canto of SB are Kalpa avatars, so they appear for the most at least once in each cycle of the 4 yugas,Satya, treta, dvarapa and Kali yuga as for Narasimha appearing in Ahovalam, it became a controversy during Srila Prabhupadas time: http://www.harekrsna.com/sun/editorials/05-07/editorials1547.htm
