How Mathura was free from demons in 4 Yugas !
Well first there is the pastime of Ambarish Maharaja in Satya Yuga, he was the king of Mathura, if you have read the 9th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam you will have read that Durvasa Muni attacked Ambarish Maharaja and created a fiery demon to kill him ,however Sudarshan Chakra chased after Durvasa Muni ,and even Lord Siva ,Lord Brahma and Lord Visnu could not protect Durvasa Muni from Sri Krsnas Sudarshan chakra, that protected Ambarish Maharaja.Thus Durvasa Muni took shelter of Ambarish Maharaja and surrendered to his lotusfeet, Ambarish Maharaja prayed to Sudarshan Chakra to forgive Durvasa Muni.So Durvasa Muni is a partial expansion of Lord Siva and was forgiven by Ambarish Maharaja and SUdarsshan Chakra.Durvasa Muni asrama was on the opposite site of Yamuna from Mathura and you can still see this asrama to this day .
In Treta Yuga King Mandhatta who was a king of Ayodhya before Lord Ramachandra wanted to take over Indra Loka.Lord Brahma said do not fight him he is very powerful due to his worship of the Sungod Surya Narayana and the Brahmanas , but use your brain to defeat him so you will not loose to him in Battle.The Indra send Mandhatta to fight with Lavanasura in Mathura who had become the king of Mathura, he had inherited the Trisula of Lord Siva, Lord Siva had expanded his own trident ,SO Lavanasura killed King Mandhatta with Lord Sivas Trisula. Later Satrughna was send by Lord Ramachandra to Mathura where He killed Lavanasura, and Sri Sattughna who is Visnu Tattva became the king of Mathura for long time coronated by His brother Lord Sri Ramachandra.
In Dvarpara Yuga Kamsa the biggest demon of Dvarpara Yuga was killed by Krsna, and in Kali yuga the Muslims destroyed Mathura and Vrindavana temples, Both Lavanasura and Kamsa killed devotees and Brahmins engaged in worshipping Krsna.The Moguls where finally defeated by the Marathi dynasty from Puni in 1700 something after couple hundreds of years rule and they freed India from the Muslims.Not long after the Marathis lost despite brave battles to the British that then ruled India for around 150 years ,untill 1948 when the British finally left India, lot of it thanks to Mahatma Gandhi and his movement
