Vidura Niti

gandhena gāvaḥ paśyanti vedaiḥ paśyanti brāhmaṇāḥ
cāraiḥ paśyanti rājānaś cakṣurbhyām itare janāḥ
"A brahmana sees through the sastras. A king sees through his spies. A cow sees through its nose. And, an ordinary man sees through his eyes."
