dear Madhavananda Prabhu

Narayana Maharaja mentioned from the commentaries of the acaryas about Bidal Narasimha , but had no personal knowledge of this place ,so by Lord Narasimhas grace you
discovered that place last year and the lilas that goes with it, we are very thankful for that.Another pastime I am very much looking for is about how Lord Narasimha once killed "Amazonian women", since he(NM) got this from the acaryas there must also be something to this lila.
Secondly about Narasimha palli I have written something about this in an article, the fact is Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has never mentioned Lord Narasimha washed His lotus Hands at Narasimha palli in Navadvipa, even that he took bath in the then exisiting Gandakini Ganga, however it seems likely He did, after fighting with Hiranyakasipu for 1000 Diviya yugas, for Lord Narasimha to bring blood stained hands in to Gaura Mandal makes no sense, and the acaryas of the Sri Sampradaya has already established Narasimha palli at Ahovalam as the place where Lord Narasimha appeared, fought with Hiranyakasipu and killed him and then washed His lotushands and lotusnails, that place is known as Rakta kunda. In all Gaudiya math parikrama books , no one has ever mentioned that Lord Narasimha washed His lotuhands, this is because Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has not mentioned this in his Navadvipa Parikrama mandal book nor in Navadvipa Bhava taranga.Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura was revealed so many things about Navadvipa, so in our line we go by that only.So based on this there is no sastric
evidence that Lord Narasimha washed his hands at Narasimha palli, that He rested there and likely dipped in what is now known as Narasimha palli makes perfect sense, but that He washed His lotushands twice from blood of the asuras makes no sense.
I am looking for sastric pramans for Ahovalam, especially I have been told there is a Ahovalam Mahatmya. The ignorance that Hiranyakasipu lived on Indra loka and was killed there can not be supported, as there is no sastric prove of it. However if you find a Ahovalam Mahatmya please let me know where I can obtain a copy as so far only telegu translations are available, though I can look into having a devotee translate it into english . Since there is an ITV documentary of Dhruva das in Ahovalam, it has shed light on many things about Ahovalam, but the sastric references about the glories of Ahovalam still seems not to be
known by many vaisnavas , and neither have we could found things in the Narasimha purana about the glories of Ahovalam.I recently spend many hours in Vrindavana going through many Puranas translated in english trying to find some more information about Ahovalam, but to no avail. So I ask you to kindly help
in this search about the missing glories of Ahovalam, and maybe you could kindly post it in your Bindu magazine, around Narasimha Caturdasi.I know this service will be much appriciated by many sincere vaisnavas from all sampradayas. As kali yuga progresses people become more impious so to have the sastric references is very important.Thank you for hearing me out and I hope to again see you soon, to go to Mayapure during Gaura purnima and not see you
and meet you is sad my dear friend.I pray everything is well for your bhajan and remembering Lord Gauranga.
With much affection your friend and servant
Payonidhi das
PS there is also a magazine called Narasimhapriya printed in Madras ,that I am looking for ,for regular copies and old copies all for my research for the book about Lord Narasimha I am working on for many years now.I have read carefully an english translation of the Sthala Purana of Simhacalam, but also would like the original sanskrit as this book seems very authoritative and is bonafide like any Purana,I have been told there is a Sthala Purana for Ahovalam as well but have never been able to find it.Obviously there is many things in the Puranas about Lord Narasimha we know little about, so I am urging all vaisnavas to kindly help with anything sastric abut Lord Narasimha, as I am trying to do this book for their pleasure and that of Srila Prabhupada and the acaryas and Lord Narasimha,I am doing this purely for selfpurification, so kindly help.

Lord Ramachandra also came to Ahovalam and offered a prayer there to Lord Narasimha:

Lord Ramacandra’s Nrisimha-Panchamrita
(These prayers are from the 47th chapter of the Harivamsa Purana which narrates the story of Lord Ramacandra’s visit to the holy place of Ahobalam to see the Deity of Nrisimha, where Lord Nrisimha appeared and saved His devotee Prahlada.)
ahobalam narasimham gatva ramah pratapavan
namaskutya sri nrisimham astaushit kamala patim
The glorious Rama once visited Ahobala where He saw the Deity of Lord Nrisimha. He offered His obeisances to Lord Kamalapati (husband of the Goddess of Fortune) and prayed as follows.
1. Govinda keshava janardana vasudeva
vishvesha-vishva madhusudana vishvarupa
shri padmanabha purushottama pushkaraksha
narayanachyuta nrisimho namo namaste
O Govinda, Keshava, Janardana, Vasudeva, Vishvesha (the controller of the universe), Vishva, Madhusudana, Vishvarupa, Sri Padmanabha, Purushottama, Pushkaraksha, Narayana, Achyuta. O Lord Narasimha I offer my respectful obeisances unto You again and again.
2. Devah samastah khalu gopi mukhyaha
gandharva vidyadhara kinnarash cha
yat pada-mulam satatam namanti
tam narasimham sharanam gato shmi
I have taken shelter of Lord Nrisimha unto whose lotus feet demigods, prominent yogis, gandharvas, vidyadharas and kinnaras are constantly offering their obeisances.
3. Vedan samastan khalu shastragarbhan
vidyam balam kirtimatim cha lakshmim
yasya prasadat purusha labhante
tam narasimham sharanam gato shmi
I have taken shelter of Lord Nrisimha by whose mercy people receive all the Vedas, the essence of all scriptures, knowledge, strength, reputation and wealth.
4. Brahma shivas tvam purushottamash cha
narayano ‘shau marutam patish cha
chandrarka vayvagni marud-ganash cha
tvam eva tam tvam shatatam nato’shmi
You are Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and the best person Lord Narayana. You are the master of the Marutas and You are the sun, the moon, air and the fire as well as the Marut-ganas. I offer my obeisances unto You.
5. Snapne’pi nitya jagatam ashesam
srashta cha hanta vibhura prabheyaha
trata tvam eka strividho vibinnaha
tam tvam nrisimham satatam nato’smi
I offer my obeisances unto Lord Nrisimha who is the creator, the maintainer and the destroyer of the entire universe. Although You perform all of these three acts simultaneously, You are completely beyond these activities. You are the all-pervading, unlimited supreme spirit.
Iti stutva raghushreshthaha
pujayamasa tam harim
pushpa vrishtih papatashu
tasya devasya murdhani
Praying this way, the best of the Raghus, Lord Ramacandra worshipped Lord Hari. At that time the demigods showered a rain of flowers on the head of Lord Nrisimhadeva.
Raghavena kutam stotram
panchamrita manuktamam
pathanti ye dvijavaraha
tesham svargastu shashvataha
This is the best of prayers, called pancamrita or five nectars compiled by Lord Rama Himself. One who reads this will be liberated eternally.
