Because everyone already knows from Srimad Bhagavatam and other Puranas that he worshipped Lord Brahma to become immortal but most do not know that prior to his worship of Lord Brahma he went to Kailash and worshipped Lord Siva and thoese pastimes took place,, as mentioned in Narasimha Purana, however what is seemingly a contradiction is that according to Srimad Bhagavatam only after Hiranyakasipu finished his worship of Lord Brahma did he conquer the heavenly planets so this is explained in Srimad Bhagavatam chapter 3 and 4 of the 7th canto CHAPTER FOUR,,but the translation of Narasimha Purana I have says Hiranyankasipu conquered the heavenly planets prior to worshipping Lord Siva,, so my understanding is that Hiranyakasipus first worshipped Lord Siva and his worship failed due to being distracted by Narada Muni and Parvata Muni in the form of birds,, then he impregnated Kayadhu as mentioned in Narasimha Purana and she was still pregnant when Hiranyakasipu went to worship Lord Brahma to become immortal and that time Indra came to kidnap Kayadhu and Narada Muni stopped Indra from trying to abort Kayadhus pregnancy ,from there Narada Muni brought Kayadhy to his Asrama in what is now known as Prahlada Pure in Pakistan ,,Srila Prabhupada mentiones in Caitanya Caritamrta that Prahlada Maharaja was born in Prahlada Pur ,,so he stayed in his mothers womb and heard Srimad Bhagavatam from Narada Muni ,,not sure if he also received instructions after he left his mothers womb because that is not mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam,,,but how could Prahlada Maharaja not have

developed a relationship with Narada Muni when he in his prayers to Lord Narasimha mentions Narada Muni as his Guru and being indebted to him ?
Text 1: Nārada Muni said: Although Prahlāda Mahārāja was born in a family of asuras, he was the greatest of all devotees. Having thus been questioned by his class friends, the sons of the asuras, he remembered the words spoken to him by me and replied to his friends as follows.
Text 2: Prahlāda Mahārāja said: When our father, Hiraṇyakaśipu, went to Mandarācala Mountain to execute severe austerities, in his absence the demigods, headed by King Indra, made a severe attempt to subdue all the demons in warfare.
Text 3: “Alas, as a serpent is eaten by small ants, so the troublesome Hiraṇyakaśipu, who always inflicted miseries upon all types of people, has now been defeated by the reactions of his own sinful activities.” Saying this, the demigods, headed by King Indra, arranged to fight the demons.
Texts 4-5: When the great leaders of the demons, who were being killed one after another, saw the unprecedented exertion of the demigods in fighting, they began to flee, scattering themselves in all directions. Simply to protect their lives, they hastily fled from their homes, wives, children, animals and household paraphernalia. Paying no heed to all these, the demons simply fled.
Text 6: The victorious demigods plundered the palace of Hiraṇyakaśipu, the King of the demons, and destroyed everything within it. Then Indra, King of heaven, arrested my mother, the Queen.
Text 7: As she was being led away, crying in fear like a kurarī captured by a vulture, the great sage Nārada, who at that time had no engagement, appeared on the scene and saw her in that condition.
Text 8: Nārada Muni said: O Indra, King of the demigods, this woman is certainly sinless. You should not drag her off in this merciless way. O greatly fortunate one, this chaste woman is the wife of another. You must immediately release her.
Text 9: King Indra said: In the womb of this woman, the wife of the demon Hiraṇyakaśipu, is the seed of that great demon. Therefore, let her remain in our custody until her child is delivered, and then we shall release her.
Text 10: Nārada Muni replied: The child within this woman’s womb is faultless and sinless. Indeed, he is a great devotee, a powerful servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore you will not be able to kill him.
Text 11: When the great saint Nārada Muni had thus spoken, King Indra, being respectful to Nārada’s words, immediately released my mother. Because of my being a devotee of the Lord, all the demigods circumambulated her. Then they returned to their celestial kingdom.
Text 12: Prahlāda Mahārāja continued: The great saint Nārada Muni brought my mother to his āśrama and assured her of all protection, saying, “My dear child, please remain at my āśrama until the arrival of your husband.”
Text 13: After accepting the instructions of Devarṣi Nārada, my mother stayed in his care, without fear from any direction, as long as my father, the King of the Daityas, had not become free from his severe austerities.
Text 14: My mother, being pregnant, desired the safety of her embryo and desired to give birth after her husband’s arrival. Thus she stayed at Nārada Muni’s āśrama, where she rendered service unto Nārada Muni with great devotion.
Text 15: Nārada Muni delivered his instructions both to me, who was within the womb, and to my mother, who was engaged in rendering him service. Because he is naturally extremely kind to the fallen souls, being in a transcendental position, he gave instructions on religion and transcendental knowledge. These instructions were free from all material contamination.
Text 16: Because of the long duration of time that has passed and because of her being a woman and therefore less intelligent, my mother has forgotten all those instructions; but the great sage Nārada blessed me, and therefore I could not forget them.

Some may find fault and say why did Narada Muni spend time alone with Kayadhu he is a Brahmacari and sannyasi how could he be alone with a woman ? First of all according to the Puranas Narada Munis asrama had other of his students so was not alone with her ,, but he did instruct her ,,,

matra svasra duhitra va
naviviktasano bhavet
balavan indriya-gramo
vidvamsam api karsati
Translation by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada:
One should not allow oneself to sit on the same seat even with one’s own mother, sister or daughter, for the senses are so strong that even though one is very advanced in knowledge, he may be attracted by sex.
Purport by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada:
Learning the etiquette of how to deal with women does not free one from sexual attraction. As specifically mentioned herewith, such attraction is possible even with one’s mother, sister or daughter. Generally, of course, one is not sexually attracted to his mother, sister or daughter, but if one allows himself to sit very close to such a woman, one may be attracted. This is a psychological fact. It may be said that one is liable to be attracted if he is not very advanced in civilized life; however, as specifically mentioned here, vidvamsam api karsati: even if one is highly advanced, materially or spiritually, he may be attracted by lusty desires. The object of attraction may even be one’s mother, sister or daughter. Therefore, one should be extremely careful in dealings with women. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was most strict in such dealings, especially after He accepted the sannyasa order. Indeed, no woman could come near Him to offer Him respect. Again, one is warned herewith that one should be extremely careful in dealings with women. A brahmacari is forbidden even to see the wife of his spiritual master if she happens to be young. The wife of the spiritual master may sometimes take some service from the disciple of her husband, as she would from a son, but if the wife of the spiritual master is young, a brahmacari is forbidden to render service to her.
We see in the life for pure devotees like Srila Prabhupada he also spend some time with Mother Govinda Mother Yamuna and Malati and Jadurani and others mostly in the presence of other devotee men but Srila Prabhupada always stayed transcendental .
But Prahlada Maharaja obviously had a relationship with Narada Muni that seemed to me ,he had a relationship with Narada Muni outside of his mothers womb otherwise how could Prahlada Maharaja pray like this ?
ŚB 7.9.18
सोऽहं प्रियस्य सुहृद: परदेवताया
लीलाकथास्तव नृसिंह विरिञ्चगीता: ।
अञ्जस्तितर्म्यनुगृणन्गुणविप्रमुक्तो
दुर्गाणि ते पदयुगालयहंससङ्ग: ॥ १८ ॥
so ’haṁ priyasya suhṛdaḥ paradevatāyā
līlā-kathās tava nṛsiṁha viriñca-gītāḥ
añjas titarmy anugṛṇan guṇa-vipramukto
durgāṇi te pada-yugālaya-haṁsa-saṅgaḥ
Synonyms
saḥ — that; aham — I (Prahlāda Mahārāja); priyasya — of the dearmost; suhṛdaḥ — well-wisher; paradevatāyāḥ — of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; līlā-kathāḥ — narrations of the pastimes; tava — Your; nṛsiṁha — O my Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva; viriñca-gītāḥ — given by Lord Brahmā by the disciplic succession; añjaḥ — easily; titarmi — I shall cross; anugṛṇan — constantly describing; guṇa — by the modes of material nature; vipramuktaḥ — specifically being uncontaminated; durgāṇi — all miserable conditions of life; te — of You; pada-yuga-ālaya — fully absorbed in meditation on the lotus feet; haṁsa-saṅgaḥ — having the association of the haṁsas, or liberated persons (who have no connection with material activities).
Translation
O my Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, by engaging in Your transcendental loving service in the association of devotees who are liberated souls [haṁsas], I shall become completely uncontaminated by the association of the three modes of material nature and be able to chant the glories of Your Lordship, who are so dear to me. I shall chant Your glories, following exactly in the footsteps of Lord Brahmā and his disciplic succession. In this way I shall undoubtedly be able to cross the ocean of nescience.
Prahlada Maharaja acknowledges he is in the Guru Parampara from Lord Brahma to Narada Muni
ŚB 7.9.28
एवं जनं निपतितं प्रभवाहिकूपे
कामाभिकाममनु य: प्रपतन्प्रसङ्गात् ।
कृत्वात्मसात् सुरर्षिणा भगवन्गृहीत:
सोऽहं कथं नु विसृजे तव भृत्यसेवाम् ॥ २८ ॥
evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ prabhavāhi-kūpe
kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt
kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā bhagavan gṛhītaḥ
so ’haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām
Synonyms
evam — thus; janam — people in general; nipatitam — fallen; prabhava — of material existence; ahi-kūpe — in a blind well full of snakes; kāma-abhikāmam — desiring the sense objects; anu — following; yaḥ — the person who; prapatan — falling down (in this condition); prasaṅgāt — because of bad association or increased association with material desires; kṛtvā ātmasāt — causing me (to acquire spiritual qualities like himself, Śrī Nārada); sura-ṛṣiṇā — by the great saintly person (Nārada); bhagavan — O my Lord; gṛhītaḥ — accepted; saḥ — that person; aham — I; katham — how; nu — indeed; visṛje — can give up; tava — Your; bhṛtya-sevām — the service of Your pure devotee.
Translation
My dear Lord, O Supreme Personality of Godhead, because of my association with material desires, one after another, I was gradually falling into a blind well full of snakes, following the general populace. But Your servant Nārada Muni kindly accepted me as his disciple and instructed me how to achieve this transcendental position. Therefore, my first duty is to serve him. How could I leave his service?
So these matters I will include in Sri Narasimha Volume 2 because they need to be explained ,,and I will do some research of there is mention in the Puranas of Prahlada Maharajas receiving further instructions outside of the belly of Kayadhu .Now do not forget Hiranyakasipu did austerities for how long ? Thousands of years not sure how long to please Lord Brahma and do not forget all that time Prahlada Maharaja was in the Asrama of Narada Muni ,,Kayadhu only returned when her husband Hiranyakasipu returned .
Hiranyakasipu had a Earthly residence at what is now known as Ahovalam and after he returned from his austerities he also lived in Indra loka as explained in Srimad Bhagavatam :
Text 8: Hiraṇyakaśipu, who possessed all opulence, began residing in heaven, with its famous Nandana garden, which is enjoyed by the demigods. In fact, he resided in the most opulent palace of Indra, the King of heaven. The palace had been directly constructed by the demigod architect Viśvakarmā and was as beautifully made as if the goddess of fortune of the entire universe resided there.
Texts 9-12: The steps of King Indra’s residence were made of coral, the floor was bedecked with invaluable emeralds, the walls were of crystal, and the columns of vaidūrya stone. The wonderful canopies were beautifully decorated, the seats were bedecked with rubies, and the silk bedding, as white as foam, was decorated with pearls. The ladies of the palace, who were blessed with beautiful teeth and the most wonderfully beautiful faces, walked here and there in the palace, their ankle bells tinkling melodiously, and saw their own beautiful reflections in the gems. The demigods, however, being very much oppressed, had to bow down and offer obeisances at the feet of Hiraṇyakaśipu, who chastised the demigods very severely and for no reason. Thus Hiraṇyakaśipu lived in the palace and severely ruled everyone.
Text 13: O my dear King, Hiraṇyakaśipu was always drunk on strong-smelling wines and liquors, and therefore his coppery eyes were always rolling. Nonetheless, because he had powerfully executed great austerities in mystic yoga, although he was abominable, all but the three principal demigods — Lord Brahmā, Lord Śiva and Lord Viṣṇu — personally worshiped him to please him by bringing him various presentations with their own hands.
Srila Prabhupada mentioned later that Hiranyakasipu was killed at Ahovalam and not in Indra Loka,, Jayadvaita Brahmcari now Swami challenged Srila Prabhupada about this fact that where is it mentioned Ahovalam ,,,so in the chapter about Ahovalam in my book Sri Narasimha I have mentioned Srila Prabhupada said it is confirmed in Brahmanda Purana and other places in the Puranas as well as by all the Alvars andSri Ramanujacarya still Jayadvaita Swami did not accept Srila Prabhupadas statements about Ahovalam ,,well I am not sure if he accepts now or not I gave him a copy of Sri Narasimha,, but it is a fact Hiranyakasipu was killed at Ahovalam
