seeing through the eyes of scriptures

dear devotees
Please accept my humble obaisences
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
So often Srila Prabhupada explained all living being are to be protected, they are prajna..also inhabitants of the state.I was walking on my japa walk and this squirrel l just runs into the street and sits under the car tire, as it was red light ,he was about to get killed. I ran into the street and then he ran back into the tree so I thought by Krsnas grace he is safe, again he ran into the street right in front of my nose and got killed by a speeding car. Well it must have been his time to go, and leave his body,I pray this soul may become a devotee. What suffering in this material world ,bombings in Pakistan ,people get killed, famine. I was hearing this bhajan where Mirabhai
was praying to Krsna for suffering humanity. This place, the material world is not fit place for a gentleman or even a squirrel. This is why this preaching movement of Srila Prabhupada is so important. One day on sankirtana some young people came to Washington DC, National mall and they got some of Srila Prabhupadas books and left by bus, later they where in an accident on their way to Baltimore, one person got killed. And we met them again on the way back , amazingly the person that was killed was one of the persons who did not get one of Srila Prabhupadas books.I talked to them about the miseries and dangers of this world, some of them bought some more of Srila Prabhupadas books
samasrita ye pada-pallava-plavam
mahat-padam punya-yaso murareh
bhavambudhir vatsa-padam param padam
padam padam yad vipadam na tesam

"For one who has accepted the boat of the lotus feet of the Lord, who is the shelter of the cosmic manifestation and is famous as Mukunda, or the giver of mukti, the ocean of the material world is like the water contained in a calf's footprint. param padam, or the place where there are no material miseries, or Vaikuntha, is his goal, not the place where there is danger in every step of life."

http://www.gauranga.org/files/misery.swf this little movie illustrates about the false shelter of this material world, without taking shelter of Krsna no one wins,Srila Prabhupada instructed all his disciples and followers to show compassion on suffering humanity by distributing his books and doing Harinama.Every day when I am not distributing Srila Prabhupadas books I feel ashamed of myself.Sometimes days goes by when I have not been distributing his books and I feel so guilty.I have been distributing his books for 30 years, and feel I have not even started this service yet.Everywhere there is so much suffering, I like to ask all compassionate devotees
to please take some time and distribute Srila Prabhupadas books, we know there is nothing better we can do for someone. When we stay in our homes or temples, how will these persons be benefitted?Srila Prabhupadas has often asked in his lectures and books, please distribute these transcendental books,in some purports of the Bhagagavatam Srila Prabhupada has stated it is the duty of every member of ISKCON (SB 7.9.44purport ).
SB 7.9.44: My dear Lord Nṛsiḿhadeva, I see that there are many saintly persons indeed, but they are interested only in their own deliverance. Not caring for the big cities and towns, they go to the Himalayas or the forest to meditate with vows of silence [mauna-vrata]. They are not interested in delivering others. As for me, however, I do not wish to be liberated alone, leaving aside all these poor fools and rascals. I know that without Kṛṣṇa consciousness, without taking shelter of Your lotus feet, one cannot be happy. Therefore I wish to bring them back to shelter at Your lotus feet.

Sometimes some devotees have asked me to describe the glories of Lrod Narasimha which is their kindness on this useless person that
they will hear about Lord Narasimha. My humble realization is Lord Narasimhadeva is eager to see this sankirtana movement spread,He is the protector of the sankirtana movement. When Lord Caitanya had problems with the Chand Kazi , Lord Narasimha came and warned him."
CC Ādi 17.175: The Kazi said, "Everyone calls You Gaurahari. Please let me address You by that name.
CC Ādi 17.176: "Kindly listen, O Gaurahari! If You come to a private place, I shall then explain the reason."
CC Ādi 17.177: The Lord replied, "All these men are My confidential associates. You may speak frankly. There is no reason to be afraid of them."
CC Ādi 17.178-179: The Kazi said, "When I went to the Hindu's house, broke the drum and forbade the performance of congregational chanting, in my dreams that very night I saw a greatly fearful lion, roaring very loudly, His body like a human being's and His face like a lion's.
CC Ādi 17.180: "While I was asleep, the lion jumped on my chest, laughing fiercely and gnashing His teeth.
CC Ādi 17.181: "Placing its nails on my chest, the lion said in a grave voice, 'I shall immediately bifurcate your chest as you broke the mṛdańga drum!
CC Ādi 17.182: "'You have forbidden the performance of My congregational chanting. Therefore I must destroy you!' Being very much afraid of Him, I closed my eyes and trembled.
CC Ādi 17.183: "Seeing me so afraid, the lion said, 'I have defeated you just to teach you a lesson, but I must be merciful to you.
CC Ādi 17.184: "'On that day you did not create a very great disturbance. Therefore I have excused you and not taken your life.
CC Ādi 17.185: "'But if you perform such activities again, I shall not be tolerant. At that time I shall kill you, your entire family and all the meat-eaters.'
CC Ādi 17.186: "After saying this, the lion left, but I was very much afraid of Him. Just see the marks of His nails on my heart!"
CC Ādi 17.187: After this description, the Kazi showed his chest. Having heard him and seen the marks, all the people there accepted the wonderful incident.
CC Ādi 17.188: The Kazi continued, "I did not speak to anyone about this incident, but on that very day one of my orderlies came to see me.
CC Ādi 17.189: "After coming to me, the orderly said, 'When I went to stop the congregational chanting, suddenly flames struck my face.
CC Ādi 17.190: "'My beard was burned, and there were blisters on my cheeks.' Every orderly who went gave the same description.
CC Ādi 17.191: "After seeing this, I was very much afraid. I asked them not to stop the congregational chanting but to go sit down at home.
I can not say anything about Lord Narasimhadeva, only humbly repeat what I have heard from Srila Prabhupadas books and lectures.
I have realized Lord Narasimhadevas personal protection on sankirtana, once in Denamrk in 1988 we where chanting daily in Copenhagen for up to 8 hours ,I was heading up this sankirtana party where we would sit down and chant Hare Krsna ,and sometimes sing some bhajans also. This one person came out of the blue with a big cement block and treatened to kill us with it if we did not leave.
We decieded to chant the Narasimha mantra ,which we did for almost one hour, he could not even come close to the chanting party ,when we started chanting Hare Krsna he came back and apologized for his lowclass behavior, and promised to never disturb the sankirtana party(but actually protect us if other intruders would disturb us) we gave him some prasadam and and a book.
My realization of Lord Narasimhadeva is He is pleased when we distribute Srila Prabhupadas books and chant the holy name as is the yuga dharma
krsna-varnam tvisa-'krsnam sangopangastra-parsadam
yajnaim sankirtana-prayair-yajanti hi sumedhasam
In the age of Kali, Krsna appears in a golden form, [as Sri Gauranga] chanting the two syllables krsna. He descends along with his weapons [The holy name of Krsna, Srimad-Bhagavatam, kirtana, and mahaprasada ], His limbs [His expansions and avataras such as Nityananda, Advaita, and His divine energies (saktis) such as Gadadhara, Svarupa Damodara, and Ramananda Raya ], and eternal confidential associates [like Srivasa hakura, Haridasa hakura, and other devotees]. Those who are advanced in transcendental intelligence worship Him by performing sankirtana. (Srimad-Bhagavatam 11.5.32)
Lord Caitanya Himself is Lord Narasimha there is three instances it is clearly shown in sastra ,one is this:
CC Ādi 17.90: One day the Lord ordered Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura to read the Bṛhat-sahasra-nāma [the thousand names of Lord Viṣṇu], for He wanted to hear them at that time.
CC Ādi 17.91: As he read the thousand names of the Lord, in due course the holy name of Lord Nṛsiḿha appeared. When Caitanya Mahāprabhu heard the holy name of Lord Nṛsiḿha, He became fully absorbed in thought.
CC Ādi 17.92: In the mood of Lord Nṛsiḿhadeva, Lord Caitanya ran through the city streets, club in hand, ready to kill all the atheists.
CC Ādi 17.93: Seeing Him appearing very fierce in the ecstasy of Lord Nṛsiḿha, people ran from the street and fled here and there, afraid of His anger.
CC Ādi 17.94: Seeing the people so afraid, the Lord came to His external senses and thus returned to the house of Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura and threw away the club.
CC Ādi 17.95: The Lord became morose and said to Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura, "When I adopted the mood of Lord Nṛsiḿhadeva, people were greatly afraid. Therefore I stopped, since causing fear among people is an offense."
CC Ādi 17.96: Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura replied, "Anyone who takes Your holy name vanquishes ten million of his offenses immediately.
CC Ādi 17.97: "There was no offense in Your appearing as Nṛsiḿhadeva. Rather, any man who saw You in that mood was immediately liberated from the bondage of material existence."
CC Ādi 17.98: After saying this, Śrīvāsa Ṭhākura worshiped the Lord, who was then greatly satisfied and returned to His own home.

There is another instance in Caitanya Bhagavad where Srivasa Thakura was worshipping Lord Narasimha for protection of from the muslim coming to arrest him due to the loud chanting of Hare Krsna in his house,Lord Caitanya came and forcibly kicked the door in'
,roaring like a lion :"I am He ,I am HE (Lord Narasimhadeva). Krsna das Kaviraja has also compared Lord Caitanya to a lion:

Caitanyera-simhera
nava-dvipe avatara
simha-griva, simha virya
simhera-hunkara
Sei simha vasuk jivera
hrdaya-kandare
kalmasa-dvirada nase
yanhara hunkare
Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Adi-Lila, 3.30-31 (1)
"Thus the lionlike Lord Caitanya has appeared in Navadvipa. He has the shoulders of a lion, the powers of a lion, and the loud voice of a lion. May that lion be seated in the core of the heart of every living being. Thus with His resounding roar may He drive away one's elephantine vices."

Just as this sankirtana yajna is very dear to the Pancatattva it is similar dear to Lord Narasimha:Padma Purana: "I do not stay in Vaikuntha-loka, the spiritual world, or within the hearts of the yogis. I stay where My devotees chant My glories"
naham tisthami vaikunthe
yoginam hrdayesu va
tatra tisthami narada
yatra gayanti mad-bhaktah
“I am not in Vaikuntha nor in the hearts of the yogis. I remain where My devotees engage in glorifying My activities My dear Narada.”

So if we want to please Lord Caitanya and Lord Narasimha, we should take the instructions of Srila Prabhupada to heart:
"Kindly help me distribute these books and Krsna consciouness will automatically spread" On the ISKCON LA website there is a link with videos they have also posted one where Srila Prabhupadas request is to distribute his books :
Lord Narasimhadeva Himself has come from Vaikuntha to hear the Harinama Sankirtana ,and protect the devotees that distribute Srila Prabhupadas books.Lord Vasudeva in Dvaraka has entered the body of Lord Caitanya as He also want to experience this ecstatic dancing of love of Godhead(it is mentioned in Gaura Ganodessa Dipika).Radha Krsna themselves are here, but we should go through
Srila Prabhupada and Lord Caitanya to understand Radha Krsna ,Srila Prabhupada has mentioned this in his lectures like http://www.prabhupadavani.org/main/Caitanya_Caritamrta/CC017.html

Srila Prabhupada CC Adi 8.31

For an ordinary man, worship of Śrī Caitanya and Nityānanda Prabhu or the Pañca-tattva is easier than worship of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. Unless one is very fortunate, he should not be induced to worship Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa directly. A neophyte student who is not sufficiently educated or enlightened should not indulge in the worship of Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa or the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. Even if he does so, he cannot get the desired result. One should therefore chant the names of Nitāi-Gaura and worship Them without false prestige. Since everyone within this material world is more or les influenced by sinful activities, in the beginning it is essential that one take to the worship of Guru-Gaurāṅga and ask their favor, for thus despite all his disqualifications one will very soon become qualified to worship the Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa vigraha.

If we go on sankirtana, Harinama and bookdistribution very quickly we will feel the presence of Srila Prabhupada and Gaura Nitai.
I like to add Gaura Nitai are in the temple ,but when we go on sankirtana they follow us, and when we get pure enough we will see them there .

Lord Brahma said, 'My dear Lord, those devotees who have thrown away the impersonal conception of the Absolute Truth and have therefore abandoned discussing empiric philosophical truths should hear from self-realized devotees about Your holy name, form, pastimes and qualities. They should completely follow the principles of devotional service and remain free from illicit sex, gambling, intoxication and animal slaughter. Surrendering themselves fully with body, words and mind, they can live in any asrama or social status. Indeed, You are conquered by such persons, although You are always unconquerable.'"

If Srila Prabhupada ,Lord Narasimhadeva and the Pancatattva is pleased ,then surely they will bless us with love for Radha and Krsna.
This is the heart of Lord Narasimha..He wants to bless all devotees with love for Gauranga and Radha Krsna, as He did to Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura at Nrsimhapalli (described in his book Navadvipa Bhava Taranga),the price is to chant our rounds ,follow the proscess of KC and go on sankirtana and read Srila Prabhupadas books, this will give us the full mercy or Lord Narasimhadeva.
Lord Narasimhadeva takes those to heart that takes this sankirtana yajna to heart,He will keep us in His compassionate heart. And protect us.We should not think I am in a big position sankirtana yajna is not for me:(SB 7.9.44 purport)
The members of the Krishna consciousness movement are not at all interested in so-called meditation in the Himalayas or the forest, where one will only make a show of meditation, nor are they interested in opening many schools for yoga and meditation in the cities. Rather, every member of the Krishna consciousness movement is interested in going door to door to try to convince people about the teachings of Bhagavad-gita As It Is, the teachings of Lord Caitanya. That is the purpose of the Hare Krishna movement. The members of the Krishna consciousness movement must be fully convinced that without Krishna one cannot be happy. Thus the Krishna conscious person avoids all kinds of pseudo spiritualists, transcendentalists, meditators, monists, philosophers and philanthropists.

In some letters Srila Prabhupada asked the GBC's to join the bookdistribution party also ,so it is for all.
Srila Prabhupada sings Gaura Pahun by Srila Narotama das Thakura: "Why I was so unfortunate to never be attracted to this sankirtana moment of Lord Caitanya".
There is no higher happiness in this material world than being on sankirtana, distributing Srila Prabhupadas books and chanting the holy name..will we do or will we comfort?I hope I get invited often to Harinama( please always drag me along)

your aspiring servant
