the contamination of management?

In 2010 at the Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama, one sannyasi made the point that the Navadvipa Parikrama purifies one from the contamination 

of being in  manegement.Next morning Praghosa Prabhu was joking that without management we would not be having breakfast.

So what is the actual line about being a manager in a spiritual society and becoming purified in KC?

I was thinking about how Satsvarupa das one of Srila Prabhupadas early disciples, how when Srila Prabhupada wanted to go an sell his books in the

very early days of ISKCON to have enough money for the Sunday feast and he offered to Srila Prabhupada that he and other devotees have some money

why should you be inconvinienced in this way.Now to me that is management..in the beginning Srila Prabhupada did everything in ISKCON, cook, preach 

,clean the kitchen ,lead the kirtan everything he did being so eager to preach KC, and then coming all alone all the way from India in his old age.Now

that is unselfish behavior in Krsnas service.Later when some of his disciples became managers in ISKCON of course the problems started due to their lack

of KC.But the dedication caused gradually some improvement in the relationships and standards ,that started with being undisciplined hippies.Srila

Prabhupada allowed the most fallen hippies, dirty , drug abusers, homosexuals you name it.As a matter of fact some of Srila Prabhupadas early disciples

where homosexuals, but still Srila Prabhupada tried to engage them.Later over the years when they became TP's, sannyasis and Gurus, their old colors

started to show up again, and in some cases there was childmolesters and homosex in ISKCON.

 So wheras some of the early disciples( a few) may have been homosexuals, or great drug abusers such as Jayatirtha, and that later came 

out when he as Guru started to use drugs again.But it of course does not mean that all western devotees where homosexuals and drug abusers etc.

Real management is to educate devotees in the theology of the holy name, as described in Harinama Cintamani.And the standard for ISKCON is minimum 

16 rounds and 4 regulative principles .Actually in the baby boomer generation there is very high divorce level and even high level of same sex  relationships

more than ever this has been shown in social studies, and which sadly has impacted society and even ISKCON.Srila Prabhupada was opposed to gay

relationships as are all religions though at present there is a great push by the" gays "within religion to make it "gay friendly", but sadly these gays often

abuse children and have indiscriminate sex,so such persons can never be in management.But gays are extremely ambitious to crawl up the social latter

(in ISKCON to become Gurus and sannyasis,and GBC's) , this would be an offence to make the impression that all leaders are gays, and that is also not

a fact.But I once more want to point out that managers in ISKCON can not be gays, actually also lesbian's tend to be very power hungry.

In general however women role is to be under the protection of their husbands always.Though modern women are trained to be completely selfish

and selfcentered.So the pus in ISKCON to establish proper varna and asrama is also one of Srila Prabhupadas desires .However without the preaching

and practicing of pure devotional service varna and asrama will not succeed. Actually real vaisnavas are not very concerned with asrama, as they

realize they are eternal servants of Krsna and no matter in what asrama they are,they can serve Krsna.

We see in the life of the demigods they are much addicted to wealth and having managerial powers and so are the materialists .However for

 pure devotional service ,management is mostly an obstacle,we can see that in the life of such great devotees like Jayananda Prabhu and Aindra Prabhu did not like to take on such position very much unless related to pure devotional service.

However good managers are needed and pure devotee managers are needed...because they will set the example of pure devotional service within 

their management.Just like Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura improved the standards of the Jagannath Puri temple while he was in charge,he has also written

the famous little article, "The temple of Jagannath". In that article he exposes the fraud of some of the Pandas in Puri.

...He even exposed the then king

of Puris fraud and money schemes in relationship to Lord Jagannatha.The first qualifikation of an ISKCON manager is to be honest, kind and compassionate

and hardworking for Krsna.Should such managers have a salary? Srila Prabhupada was against the salary system, but it is not practical that devotees

does not get any money ,that is more like a "baksis",donation for their service  , not really a salary.Is that "donation" tax exempt according to law of the

country?Well these are legal issues...we do not need to discuss here.However not only managers but all devotees in any temple, needs support

, medical care etc.We can not neglect the devotees,to do so would be a great offence to Krsna and those devotees.One elderly mataji in France

 committed suicide considering she might be a burden, this is very terrible and the suicide of this mataji should weigh very very very very heavey on 

the GBC.That no devotee in ISKCON should ever feel this way.Many devotees in ISKCON served for years without any pay, and it is my suggestion the GBC

look into that in their old age they can live comfortably in Mayapure and prepare to go back to Godhead, Lord Gauranga lotusfeet.

So many things can be said about this issue,,,but these are some thoughts.The greed however of some managers in ISKCON has been seen 

and no one should become millionairs in the name of service to Krsna or enrich themselves at the expense of other devotees, this will cause 

them to become dogs in their next life and we can see in Ramayana how one person simply became a dog for abusing managerial position in ISKCON.

Gaura Govinda Maharaja in 1995 at the end of his lecture on the appearance of Madhavendra Puri shouted: "Sometimes the Temple president 

thinks he has become God and he throws out devotees of the temple for no good reason" This later happened and this "TP" even stole

 the Vyasana and murti of Srila  Prabhupada before leaving the temple, as well as money ....we should take lessons from such managerial abuses...

and making sure they do not get repeated,Srila Prabhupada warned :"Punah musika bhava" Do not again become a mouse.... 

We see how even Siva,Brahma and Indra sometimes commits offences to Krsna thinking themselves big managers, to counteract this

we should certainly all join the Navadvipa mandal Parikrama so I agree with Bhakti Dhira Damodara Maharaja as well as Praghosa Prabhu, management needs to be there of course and at the same time we can not become proud because of it, we remain 1/10.000
