Sri Krsna appeared simultanously in Gokula to Yasoda and in Mathura to Vasudeva and Devaki. One sannyasi from Gaudiya Matha in Navadvipa, Yati Maharaja, misunderstood Srila Prabhupada and wrote in his commentary to Bhagavatam first canto that Srila AC.Bhaktivedanta Swami did not know how Krsna appeared both in Mathura and in Gokula, but this can be easy refuted when we study Srila Prabhupadas commentaries to the 10th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam.SB10.3.47

Thereafter, exactly when Vasudeva, being inspired by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was about to take the newborn child from the delivery room, Yogamāyā, the Lord’s spiritual energy, took birth as the daughter of the wife of Mahārāja Nanda.

=C 5rīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura discusses tha t Kṛṣṇa appeared simultaneously as the son of Devakī and as the son of Yaśodā, along with the spiritual energy Yogamāyā. As the son of Devakī, He first appeared as Viṣṇu, and because Vasudeva was not in the position of pure affection for Kṛṣṇa, Vasudeva worshiped his son as Lord Viṣṇu. Yaśodā, however, pleased her son Kṛṣṇa without understanding His Godhood. This is the difference between Kṛṣṇa as the son of Yaśodā and as the son of Devakī. This is explained by Viśvanātha Cakravartī on the authority of Hari-vaḿśa.

Now when did Sri Krsna appear ? Around 5,227 years ago , the horoscope of Sri Krsna , still exists and Vedic astrologers through out the ages have been fascinated with the transcendental horoscope of Sri Krsna.
There is a website that has pictures of Gokula where Sri Krsna appeared in the house of Nanda Maharaja.Nanda Bhavan ,http://www.vaisnava.cz/clanek_en.php3?no=187.Sri Balarama also appeared here in Gokula from the womb of Revati , 8 days before the birth of Sri Krsna.So at the same time Vasudeva Krsna appeared to Devaki in Mathura, Mother Yasoda gave birth to Yogamaya and Brajendranandana Krsna. Vasudeva brought Vasudeva Krsna to Gokula ,via the Yamuna river and the Vasudeva Krsna form entered the transcendental for of Svayam Bhagavan Sri Krsna.In is Laghu Bhagavatamrta this is explained by Srila Rupa Goswami.
krsno ‘nyo yadu-sambhuto yah purnah so ’sty atah parah
vrndavanam parityajya sa kvacin naiva gacchati
The Krsna known as Yadu-kumara is Vasudeva Krsna. He is different from the Krsna who is the son of Nanda Maharaja. Yadu-kumara Krsna manifests His pastimes in the cities f Mathura and Dvaraka, but Krsna the son of Nanda Maharaja never at any time leaves Vrndavana.”

In Mathura many times pilgrims and devotees goes to the big Janma sthana see http://ramsetu.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/k0... this is actually not the orignal place where Krsna appeared .You have to ask for the prachin mandir..that means the old temple.This place is where Kamsa’s temple was and near by is the kunda where Vasudeva and Devaki=2 0was allowed to bath and wash their cloth. Potra kunda ,actually the original name is Pavitra kunda.,Near by is the Deity of Adi Kesava.Lord Caitanya danced in estacy in front of Adi Kesava.This original Deity that was installed by Vrajanabha Krsnas grandson was later moved to near Kanpur in UP ,but it is most auspicious to see the Vijaya Vigraha of Adi Kesavaji (the smaller Deity ) .
In his Ananda Vrindavan Campu, Srila Kavi Karnapure has not mentioned the birth of Sri Krsna to Devaki but only focused his attention on Krsnas transcendental birth in Gokula.However we should not imitate and ignore the Janma Sthana in Mathura. Those who go to Vrindavana should visit both places and pray respects to Sri Krsna, both in Mathura and Gokula this will make ones pilgrimage perfect and very happy, and blissfull.
After Krsna killed Kamsa ,the inhabitants of Mathura asked Krsna how one should celebrate His transcendental birth and He intructed to do full fasting for 24 hours.Like Nirjala eadasi. For=2 0most this is not so easy in this Kali yuga, so our acaryas like Srila Prabhupada and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhpada allowed some light ekadasi prasadam at midnight.But one should never take grains on Janmastami midnight, that is breaking the fast,that has to go on untill the next day without grains .
As stated by Lord Brahma in the Brahma Purana, “When the Janmastami tithi and its Rohini Naksatra ends (next morning), then only one should consume grains to break the fast.” Srila Prabhupada never took granis on Janmastami midnigt and never instructed his disciples to do so.
The Yagnavalkya Smruti supports Lord Brahma’s statement, stating the following, “Only when both–the tithi and the–Naksatra timings of Janmastami have ended, then only one should break ones fast. There is no other way than this.”
In the Vayu Purana it is stated, “If one desires to become free from all sin, he or she should accept some rice Mahaprasada of Lord Jagannatha (or other grains of Mahaprasadam) on the day after Janmastami day.”
Lord Brahma instructs Narada in the Visnu Rahasya, “Anyone who eats grains on Janmastami day becomes filled with all categories of sin performed in the three worlds, and takes birth as a snake in the forest.”
In the Brahma Vaivarta Purana is is stated:
One who fasts, follows the Janmastami vow, and keeps an all-night vigil on this day becomes freed from the sins of ten million births. Of this there is no doubt.

The spiritual result of strictly following Janmastami is tremendeous.
In the Brahma Purana it is stated, “For those who properly fast on the correct Janmastami day, Kaliyuga cannot influence them.”
But it is not only about fasting but about remembering and chanting the glories to Radha and Krsna w ith great love , and best also with the association of loving devotees.

In honor of Sri Krsna Janmastami , I like to quote Srila Prabhupada on the importance of reading the Krsna book.
Prabhupada: Yes. If you read Krsna book and if you believe, then you see Krsna. He’s not different from the book. (N98:760427CC.AUC)
Prabhupada: Krsna book is written in such a way that everyone can read. But the scheme is like that. To understand Krsna, one has to go through this… The idea is that Krsna book should be read. (721104SB.VRN Lectures)
Read Krsna book regularly. Why these books are written? Only for selling? Taking statistics, “How many books you have sold?” You learn, read. Always read, twenty-four hours. As soon as you get time, read. I do that. I do that. Reading, writing, or chanting. But when there is no other way, you sleep little. Not to enjoy sleep, but because it is not possible to continue, all right, sleep one hour, two hours, three hours, four hours, five hours. Not more than that. Not that I am sleeping, enjoying life, up to eight o’clock, twelve o’clock. (720423SB.TOK Lectures)
Even if you hear yourself, you read books, you will save your life. If you simply read Krsna book or Bhagavad-gita or Teachings of Lord Caitanya, then you know the… As long as you are reading, the sun is unable to take your life. It is not=2 0possible for the sun to take your life. (720612SB.LA Lectures)
Another process is, save time, if you chant Hare Krsna mantra, then the time is not lost. Time is not lost. Hare Krsna mantra, read book, Krsna book. Any moment, any time you spend for thinking of Krsna, working for Krsna, chanting for Krsna, eating for Krsna, dancing for Krsna, that time is saved. That time is saved. Therefore it is recommended, harer nama harer nama harer namaiva kevalam, kalau nasty eva nasty eva… Otherwise, by yoga process, it is not… How many men can actually practice yoga? It is all farce. This is possible. Even a child can take part, Hare Krsna mantra. (740120SB.HAW Lectures)
If you actually want to become free from the contamination of this material world, then you should always be engaged in chanting, sankirtanam. Not only the holy name, but reading the Krsna book, The Nectar of Devotion, Teachings of Lord Caitanya. If you feel tired chanting, you read these books.



It is so nice. Because you will understand Krsna, what is Krsna, and here it is said, janma karma ca me divyam ye janati tattvatah. It is explained. The people who are reading Krsna book very seriously, and tries to understand Krsna, he will understand. Krsna is very kind. As soon as he begins reading Krsna book with a little faith and adherence, Krsna will be very much pleased. Srnvatam sva-kathah krsnah punya-sravana-kirtanah. As soon as Krsna is within your heart so when you read Bhagavad-gita or Krsna book with little seriousness, then Krsna understands, “Now he is serious to understand me.” He’s with the…. You haven’t got to search out Krsna, He’s already within you. Simply you have to become little serious. “Krsna, kindly give me knowledge so that I can understand.” Buddhi-yogam dadami tam. If you are serious devotee, if you are in love with Krsna, tesam satata-yuktanam bhajatam priti-purvakam. If you are engaged in His worshiping, in chanting, man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru. If you simply follow these four principles, simply thinking of Krsna, simply, always, sa vai manah krsna-padaravindayoh. Simply meditate. This is meditation. (740329BG.BOM Lectures)
Our Krsna consciousness movement is the same: it is simply questioning about Krsna and hearing the answer. It is loka-mangalam. Anywhere this vibration will go on, there will be all auspicity. Loka-mangalam. Krsna-samprasno yenatma suprasidati. Another feature is Krsna is all-attractive; therefore, talks about Him is also attractive. In our Krsna book there are so many topics about Krsna, janma karma me divyam, about His birth, about His transference from real father’s house to another foster father, then the attack by the demons upon Krsna, Kamsa.
