Some nectar about distributing Srila Prabhupadas books

In the time when there is less and less bookdistribution in the western world, it is good to hear such   pastimes like about Ananga Mohan Prabhu.

There is many such surrendered pastimes of ISKCON devotees sacrificing everything to distribute Srila Prabhupadas books though not known to many.

When I was a new devotee in January ,february of 1980 we sankirtana devotees went to the Nothern Part of Sweden to distribute books, our sankirtana leader was

Yogindra Prabhu.I recall when we went to Kiruna in the most nothern part of Sweden it was minus 60 Celsius.One morning when camped out side the city we had no hot water to use for bath, and we all entered the freezing water  at 4 am.As I was drying myself and putting on tilaka and dressing, I realized that all these devotees where already liberated souls having  sacrificed so much for Lord Caitanyas mission and Srila Prabhupadas bookdistribution.

I humbly asked the assembled devotees if they would be kind and accept my humble obaisences.

vaishnavebhyo namo namaha

 

"I offer my respectful obeisances unto all the Vaishnava devotees of the Lord. They are just like desire trees who can fulfill the desire of everyone. They are oceans of mercy and are the purifiers of the fallen souls."

 

This bookdistribution is so dear to Srila Prabhupada and we should all beg Srila Prabhupada that please you alllow me to distribute your books birth after birth with full determination to please you.

vrindavanasina hitavatara

prasida radha-pranaya-prachara

 

"O spiritual master, O giver of divine wisdom, O friend of the fallen, you are the giver of your own bliss and you are the only ocean of mercy. Although dwelling in Vrindavana, you have descended for the welfare of fallen souls like myself and you are preaching the divine love of Radha for Krishna. Please be kind upon me."

 

amsho bhagavato 'smy aham

sada daso 'smi sarvatha

tat-kripapakshako nityam

tat-preshthasat karomi svam

 

"I am a tiny part and parcel of the Supreme Lord and I am always and in every way His eternal servant. As I am always hoping for His mercy and kindness, I offer myself to His most dear servitor, my spiritual master."

 

Devotee (1): They are so attached.
Prabhupada: Yes. But it is your kindness that you accepted me. But I never expected. I never expected that “These people will accept.” I never expected.
Hari-sauri: So simply if we rely on Krsna…
Prabhupada: Yes, that is our only business.
Hari-sauri: And if we look for results, then…
Prabhupada: And we should do our duty as prescribed by the spiritual master. Guru-krsna-krpaya [Cc. Madhya 19.151]. Then both sides, you will be favored, from the spiritual master and from Krsna. And that is the success. My Guru Maharaja was publishing one paper, Dayinika (?) Nadiya Prakash. It was worth two paisa or one paisa. So if a brahmacari could sell a few copies, he would have been so glad. You see? The collection was not even four annas. Still, he was so glad that “Oh, you have distributed so much.” Our business is to carry out the order, not to see success. Success is not so easy. That is not so easy.

 

Srila Prabhupada so often again and again stated how this service of bookdistribution is so pleasing to his Guru Maharaja

 

Prabhupada: Push this on. Then our movement is successful. All Americans should have at least one set of books. That is not very difficult for them, to purchase one set books. But it will be a good asset for them if they keep and see sometimes. Any line he reads, he will get transcendental knowledge. Anyone who reads Krsna book, he will become Vaisnava. That’s a fact.

Devotee: But we have no attraction for Krsna. You are attracting us to Krsna.

Prabhupada: (laughing) Actually Krsna is attracting. Like one magnetic stone is attracting one piece of iron, and then another, then another.

Devotee: We are becoming happy by distributing your books.

Prabhupada: Thank you. They are Krsna’s books. (Conversation with Srila Prabhupada 3/2/75)

Have anyone tried selling Prabhupadas books day in and out is such extreme cold or heat?, Like in South India on Padayatra  in 1985 we sankirtana devotees where distributing in

100 degrees , 45 celsius and plus weather or more...all ISKCON temples should become fully dedicadet to Srila Prabhupadas book distribution as

 number one preaching activity this is real tapasya for the transcendental pleasure of Srila Prabhupada......
