Remembering Lord Narasimha in a Copenhagen Jail !
I remember some amazing things on sankirtana often that took place long ago I used to not think about it, often in 1979 when I was a new devotee I would sell books on the subway trains in Copenhagen and go to various stops sometimes people invite me to their house to tell them more about the books and bhakti.I recall one time I met some priests and there was like 40 of them they wanted me to come speak about Krsna and understand the concept of reincarnation and Karma bhakti etc.Though so many years ago such memories came to my mind today .Meeting an aunt one day on sankirtana (my dads sister) and she insisted I come to their house and tell them about Krsna they cooked me some vegetarian things and came me hot milk and fruits that was all when I started doing sankirtana in Copenhagen in 1979 I was mostly alone out there the only book distributor in all of Denmark that time that year we officially started ISKCON Denmark ,Pioneer days in ISKCON Denmark ,our first Janmastami so many things happend that year .I was 19 but very fired up to distribute Prabhupadas books , I was also invited that year to speak at the high school I went to in Vejle Roedkilde Gymnasium ,how had I just left Highschool to become a Hare Krsna monk? I recall also we got arrested one devotee Gopisvara Prabhu and myself,they kept us in jail for 3 hours and we started chanting Hare Krsna and Namaste Narasimhaya in jail , Gopesvara Prabhu on Harmonium and me on Kartals and we where in Dhoties and kurta, Tilaka at all.I told the police I am Danish citizen and Hare Krsna monk , are you not ashamed of arresting us for chanting Gods name in a free country like Denmark.Who was stupid enough to have us arrested ? If you ever arrest us again for chanting Gods name we will see you the police in court and you will hear from our lawyers.I am pretty sure no Hare Krsna has ever been arrested again in Denmark for chanting Hare Krsna , there was some really powerful Narasimha Kirtana in that jail on that day I guess Lord Narasimha took us to jail to purifie the whole place with His Holy names and glorification ?
