Proper understanding the Gauranga Nagaris

Paramananda Das this painting is done by Gadadhar Prana in Mayapure , he used to be Pandu das and initiated by Prabhupada in Mayapure, he is also the artist that painted pictures on the walls outside on Mayapures gate they are long faded sadly
  • Paramananda Das Gadadhar Prana was trained in Lila smaranam by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada brother Lalit Prasada
  • Paramananda Das but Gadadhara Prana rejected Srila Prabhupada and gave up the name Pandu das given to him by Srila Prabhupada
  • Paramananda Das he has become a Gauranga Nagari followers of one of the apasampradayas ,like Lalit Prasaa also followed
  • Paramananda Das "There is a class of devotees called Gauranga-nagari, who stage plays of Krsna's pastimes using a vigraha, or form, of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. This is a mistake that is technically called rasabhasa. While Caitanya Mahaprabhu is trying to enjoy as a devotee, one should not disturb Him by addressing Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead."
    Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi lila 7:10

"Sometimes Lord Caitanya, because He is Krishna Himself, somebody worships Him in the same manner as Krishna. But Krishna was in the role of enjoyer and Lord Caitanya is in the role of being enjoyed. So the party known as Gauranga Nagari, they are considered to be deviated from pure devotional service, on account of Lord Caitanya given the same facility of Krishna, which He did not like. Our service mood should be compatible to the attitude of the Lord. Not that we should overlap the attitude of Krishna to Lord Caitanya, or Lord Caitanya to Krishna, or Krishna to Ramacandra, or Ramacandra to Krishna. Therefore, in the Sastras, specific injunctions are there, just like to worship Lord Caitanya is by the method of chanting Hare Krishna."

Srila Prabhupada Letter to Satsvarupa, 06-16-68

"Therefore my Guru Maharaja did not approve the parties... They are called gauranga-nagari. They accept Caitanya Mahaprabhu as Krsna. Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Krsna, but they pose Him, "Krsna is enjoying with gopis." No, that is called gauranga-nagari-bhava. No. Krsna has appeared now as devotee. So you must help Him how He can become a best devotee. Not that pose Him into Krsna position."

Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam, 10-17-72, Vrindaban

"'Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu never even joked with others' wives. As soon as He saw a woman coming, He would immediately give her ample room to pass without talking.' He was extremely strict regarding the association of women. The sahajiyas, however, pose as followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu although they indulge in lusty affairs with women. In His youth Lord Caitanya was very humorous with everyone, but He never joked with any woman, nor in this incarnation did He talk about women. The gauranga-nagari party is not approved by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu or Vrndavana dasa Thakura. Even though one may offer all kinds of prayers to Caitanya Mahaprabhu, one should strictly avoid worshiping Him as the Gauranga Nagara. The personal behavior of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the verses written by Sri Vrndavana dasa Thakura have completely repudiated the lusty desires of the gauranga-nagaris."

    Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi lila 12:2
  • Paramananda Das He worships Radha Krsna half the year and then turns them into Gaura Gadadhara ,this is Rasa Bhasa ..
  • Paramananda Das Gauranga Nagaris also do not take to chanting Hare Krsna as the main worship of Lord Caitanya ,they do Lila smarana of Astakaliya lilas of Radha Krsna ,and Lord Caitanya but give no importance to study of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam and Caitanya Caritamrta etc
  • Paramananda Das they really believe in siddha pranali rising without anarthas being purified by chanting Hare Krsna ...
  • Paramananda Das but as long as they do nto engage in immoral acts their meditation is harmless and actaully beneficial to bhakti ..as Lila Samranam also purifies the soul....
  • Paramananda Das but this is not the path shown by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura
  • Paramananda Das Lord Caitanya emphasized chanting 64 rounds daily avoiding Nama aParadha as we can also see in Harinama Cintamani, one who reads Hari Nama Cintamani can understand the difference between that and the mood of the Gauranga Nagaris
  • Paramananda Das but as he engaged in illicit sex life while in the sannyasa asrama ,who is he to talk like this?
  • Paramananda Das This picture actually has many fine details to Radha and Krsna and shows good absorbtion in the Divine Couple ,actaully Gadadhara Prana has lived most of his life in Mayapure and never leaves the holy dhama ..he was never offensive to Srila Prabhupada or Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada when I met him

Paramananda Das the fact is that Gadadhara Pandit is Sri Radha , and when Lord Caitanya and Gadadhara Pandit dances in Srivasangam at night doing Sankirtana they remember Their own pastimes as Radha Krsna, because Lord Caitanya is Krsna. And actually Krsna in the mood of Radharani ..what is He trying to relish?
  • Paramananda Das CC Ādi 4.52: "Lord Kṛṣṇa desired to taste the limitless nectarean mellows of the love of one of His multitude of loving damsels [Śrī Rādhā], and so He has assumed the form of Lord Caitanya. He has tasted that love while hiding His own dark complexion with Her effulgent yellow color. May that Lord Caitanya confer upon us His grace."
CC Ādi 4.53: To accept ecstatic love is the main reason He appeared and reestablished the religious system for this age. I shall now explain that reason. Everyone please listen.

CC Ādi 4.54: Having first given hints about the verse describing the principal reason why the Lord appeared, now I shall manifest its full meaning.

CC Ādi 4.55: "The loving affairs of Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are transcendental manifestations of the Lord's internal pleasure-giving potency. Although Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are one in Their identity, They separated Themselves eternally. Now these two transcendental identities have again united, in the form of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya. I bow down to Him, who has manifested Himself with the sentiment and complexion of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī although He is Kṛṣṇa Himself."

CC Ādi 4.56: Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are one and the same, but They have assumed two bodies. Thus They enjoy each other, tasting the mellows of love.

CC Ādi 4.57: Now, to enjoy rasa, They have appeared in one body as Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
  • Paramananda Das my Gurudeva has explained all these matters carefully
  • Paramananda Das so Srila Narayana Maharaja has rightly stated: The first purpose was to relish the position of Srimati Radharani, who is the prime reciprocator of transcendental love of Sri Krsna. Lord Krsna is the reservoir of transcendental loving transactions with Srimati Radharani. The subject of those loving transactions is the Lord Himself, and Radharani is the object. Thus the subject, the Lord, wanted to relish the loving mellow in the position of the object, Radharani.
The second reason for His appearance was to understand the transcendental mellow of Himself. Lord Krsna is all sweetness.

Radharani's attraction for Krsna is sublime, and to experience that attraction and understand the transcendental sweetness of Himself, He accepted the mentality of Radharani.

The third reason that Lord Caitanya appeared was to enjoy the bliss tasted by Radharani. The Lord thought that undoubtedly Radharani enjoyed His company and He enjoyed the company of Radharani, but the exchange of transcendental mellow between the spiritual couple was more pleasing to Srimati Radharani than to Sri Krsna. Radharani felt more transcendental pleasure in the company of Krsna than He could understand without taking Her position, but for Sri Krsna to enjoy in the position of Srimati Radharani was impossible because that position was completely foreign to Him. Krsna is the transcendental male, and Radharani is the transcendental female. Therefore, to know the transcendental pleasure of loving Krsna, Lord Krsna Himself appeared as Lord Caitanya, accepting the emotions and bodily luster of Srimati Radharani.

Lord Caitanya appeared to fulfill these confidential desires and also to preach the special significance of chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, and to answer the call of Advaita Prabhu. These were secondary reasons.
  • Paramananda Das mostly however devotees do not carefully understand that Lord Caitanyas main reason for His descent was His own internal reasons ,to relish the mood of Srimati Radharani and Her devotion and how She loves Krsna and absorbs in His Name ,fame ,pastimes etc
  • Paramananda Das Nama, Rupa ,Guna ,lila etc ..name ,form ,qualities and pastimes etc
  • Paramananda Das sri-radhika-madhavayor apara madhurya-lila-guna-rupa-namnam
    prati-kshanaswadana-lolupasya
    vande guroh sri-charanaravindam

"The spiritual master is always eager to hear and chant about the unlimited conjugal pastimes of Radhika and Madhava, and Their qualities, names, and forms. The spiritual master aspires to relish these at every moment. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

    tatrati-dakshyad ati-vallabhasya

"The spiritual master is very dear, because he is expert in assisting the gopis, who at different times make different tasteful arrangements for the perfection of Radha and Krsna's conjugal loving affairs within the groves of Vrndavana. I offer my most humble obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.
