seeing through the eyes of scriptures

Dear Devotees
Please accept my humble obaisences
All glories to Srila Prabhupada

namo gaura-kisoraya saksad-vairagya-murtaye
vipralambha-rasambhode padambujaya te namah

I offer my respectful obeisances unto Gaura-kisora dasa Babaji Maharaja [the spiritual master of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati], who is renunciation personified. He is always merged in a feeling of separation and intense love of Krsna.

Due to Srila Prabhupadas instructions to avoid his godbrothers (Srila Prabhupada wanted to protect his followers) or rather not to join hem them, most have been bereft of the vaisnava writings such as this prayer to Srila Gaura kisora das Babji by Srila Prabhupadas godbrother Sridhara Swami, whom Srila Prabhupada called the best of his godbrothers. He lived with Srila Prabhupada in Allahabad when Srila Prabhupada was a grhastha, Srila Prabhupada also helped publish his http://www.bvml.org/SBRSM/SSPJ/index.htm

Life-Nectar of the Surrendered Soul

on of the many gems given by Srila Sridhara Swami is this prayer

Although I remain deep in the mud of offenses, I (a fallen soul) am begging you for your causeless mercy. Please be gracious and deliver this soul bereft. O Gaura Kisora, again and yet again do I make my obeisance unto you.

Srila Gaura Kisora das Babaji also encouraged devotees to chant 1 lakh names daily as did his siksa Guru Jagannatha das Babaji they both chanted 3 lahks every day:
SRILA JAGANNATHA DASA BABAJI

The main teaching of Srila Jagannatha dasa babaji:

"If you want to achieve perfection in Krsna consciousness, you must take a vow to chant a minimum of two hundred thousand or otherwise one hundred thousand of holy names every day, and you must execute that without fail.

Before you retire at night you must finish this specific number of rounds, then you can achieve perfection in Krsna consciousness."
There is some biographies that leave out this part as the authors may only be chanting 16 rounds and can not carry the burden of Lord Caitanya asking devotees to chant minimum 64 rounds daily:
Thus to glorify Srila Gaura kisora das babaji and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada without mentioning the importance of chanting minimum 64 rounds is incomplete
In ISKCON it is minimum 16 rounds ,we may claim I am a preacher and have no time for chanting 64 rounds, however Lokanath das Goswami has advised:
SRILA LOKANATHA GOSWAMI TO SRILA NAROTTAMA

Prema-vilasa: Chapter 11

(Note: Both Srila Prabhupada and Srila Sarasvati Thakura have accepted Prema-vilasa as bonafide in their commentaries to Cc Adi 13.60 purp.)

je vaisnava haibe laibe harinama
sankhya kari nama laile krpa karena gauradhama

"Those who are Vaisnavas must chant the names of Krsna in a particular number everyday. Then Lord Gaura, the supreme abode of love will be merciful to them.

WHAT IS THAT NUMBER?

purva abhipraye sabe laha harinama
keha laksa visesatah mukhe gana

"Everyone should specifically chant or sing the name loudly 1,00,000 times a day with the mood I have described earlier.

EMPOWERMENT IF:

narottama laksa nama laya sankhya kari
nama laile gaurangera sarva sakti dhari

"O my disciple, Narottama! Please chant 1,00,000 names everyday while maintaining their count. If you chant in this way then you will become empowered by all the potencies of Lord Gauranga.

ACHIEVE THE LOTUS FEET OF KRSNA IF:

krsna pada prapti laksa laile harinama
granthi purna haile eka karibe pranama.

"I again repeat that if you want to achieve the lotus feet of Lord Krishna, then you have to chant 1,00,000 names daily. After chanting four rounds (granthi) or one round, you should offer obeisances to the Name.

The acaryas never taught in old age I can chant those who hesitate now will never chant 64 rounds or more in the future that is all just lip service, the real lip service is to use the lips and tongue and mind, intelligence to constantly chant Hare Krishna and remember Krishnas pastimes

Below is Srila Prabhupadas audio recording of the Krsna book
http://bhaktistudies.ning.com/page/srila-prabhupada-dictating

Srila Prabhupada writes in the Krsna book chapter 46
Those who are in the most exalted position of devotional service and ecstasy can live with Krsna always by remembering His pastimes. Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has given us a transcendental literature entitled Krsna-bhavanamrta, which is full with Krsna's pastimes. Devotees can remain absorbed in Krsna-thought by reading such books. Any book of krsna-lila, even this book, Krsna, and our Teachings of Lord Caitanya, is actually solace for devotees who are feeling the separation of Krsna.

We are all suffering in this material world due to being seperated from Krsna, sothis invokes remembrance of Krsna and makes us only hanker for His lotusfeet and service, when there is attachement to Krishna there will be more and more detachment from the material world
