seeing through the eyes of scriptures
On ISKCON Desire tree is a wrong definition given of Krsnas Sakhas :
Four kinds of sakhas
Posted by Gourab Saha on June 23, 2012 at 1:14pm
1. Suhrid Sakha: They are older than Krishna. Balaram is the leader. They always try to protect Krishna. They consider Krishna is fit for their protection. Also they try to protect Krishna By holding arms.
2. Sadharan Sakha : They are the ordinary Sakhas, they are a little younger than Krishna, they lovingly serve Krishna by performing intimate body seva, like massage, fanning etc.
3. Priya Sakha: Sridam, Dam, Sudam and Basudam are the leaders of Priya Sakhas. Even though they are priya Sakha but Sridam is Radha’s brother therefore Krishna cannot have any madhur rasa talk with Sridam.
4. Priya narma Sakha: Subal , Arjun, Gandharva, Vasanta, Ujjal - they are leaders and are supported by Madhumangal the greedy one, and their eyes want to deliver krishna’s secret message and appointment with Radha.Krishna can have all verities of talks even madhur rasa talks with Priya narma sakhas.
there is not such thing as Sadhana Sakhas, it should just be Sakhas :
so there is mainly 4 kinds of Sakhas (1) well-wishers, (2) friends, (3) confidential friends and (4) intimate friends ,I have posted the link above from my web block
if you have any questions about the 4 kinds of cowherd boys ,Suhrit sakhas,Sakhas, priya sakhas and priyanarma sakhas , the priyanarma sakhas also brings messages between Radha and Krsna.Madhumangal is also in that catagory, but he is also known as a vidusakha and makes Krsna Balarama, and the cowhered boys laugh ,all the different kinds of Gopis and Sri Radha and all devotees in Vrindavan, actually even all devotees in the material and
spiritual world when they laugh at the many jokes of Madhumangal:
The personified mellows of comedy, pure-hearted, eternally hungry, jubilant, and splendid Madhumangala daily induces the laughter of his two friends (Sri Sri Radha-Krsna) with a host of comic speeches and gestures. With great devotion let us at once bow down to offer our respect to Madhumangala, the joking friend of Lord Krsna, the moon of Vrndavana
