In 1990 when I was in ISKCON LA ,I had a room mate Prabhupadaacarya Prabhu a disciple of His Grace Virabhahu Prabhu .One day he came to me very disturbed he and some Brahmacaries had been to a grocery store on Venice boulevard and the store owner told them.Forgive me my ignorance I want to ask you something about your religion and practices. He took them aside : Some of your Hare Krsna Married folks come here sometimes and buy condoms , I know they are Hare Krsnas because I have seen them in the temple .I know you do not allow condoms in your religion and only have sex for having children.So it seems some of your devotees are braking the rules.
I mentioned this to the temple board the next day .Sura das got into a rage and grappled Prabhupadacarya Prabhu and threatened to beat him and he was kicked out of the temple .He was not spreading false rumors , the other Brahmacaries kept their mouth shut .One day one matajis told another what TV you want to watch today Oprah Windfry show or Chicago Bulls Basketball game with Michael Jordan .I was new to USA still and hardly even knew who they were back them ,but I knew they were in Maya. .Shortly after that I left ISKCON LA and only came back once for LA Ratha Yatra in 1994. Harikesa my former ISKCON Guru told me that I should not go back to ISKCON LA though I was the sankirtana leader. Prabhupadaacarya was taking shelter of Hrdayananda Maharaja and then he got temporary expelled for defending Prabhupadaacarya Prabhu from visiting ISKCON LA temple and giving class.
In 1994 I was in ISKCON Berkley and first day in the temple one Mexican Bhakta and a Mataji disciple of Srila Prabhupada had illicit sex in one of the rooms ajoint in the temple.Harivilasa das the GBC called me and apologized,those two where not removed from the temple .I guess they call is Kali fornia for a reason?

Paramananda Das one devotee just wrote me : .l have recently visited Berkley temple and l stay in Brahmachari ashram to get my Visa for India....so just about after midnight one of indian devotees is musturbating on the phone live webcast with his girlfriend from India ....so when devotees have heard him they told Jagannatha prabhu who is temple president but he was not kick out because he was bringing Lakshmi to the temple....
