If they make a rule, there has to be a penalty for not following it. What
will they do, threaten to kick devotees out of ISKCON if they take grain
prasadam on that day? And how will they enforce it? Should they create a new
ministry to run around and spy on all the temples, all the preaching
centers, and all the grhasthas in their homes?
Payonidhi Prabhu, perhaps if you voluntered to be the police man to enforce
this internationally as a law, then the GBC might be more inclined to pass
comment: that time I was suggesting to the GBC to please make sure temples in ISKCON follow Srila Prabhupada's standard of fasting from grains at least on Janmastami
,Gaura Purnima and Ramanavami, this is the standard of our Sampradaya also.Srila Prabhupada standard and example is very clear no grains, and for Ramanavami and Gaura Purnima his letters are very specific. Now why would anyone in their right state of mind then serve grains on these days? To deliberatly undermind the authority of Srila Prabhupada.Of course ISKCON is not like a police state , but for temples that is the proper ISKCON standard ,that however some GBC's and sannyasis and TP's choose to serve grains is their choice that opposes Srila PRabhupadas teachings. This devotee actually does not observe any fasting much ,I once allowed him to stay in my room I had rented in Mayapure and he took prasadam at 9 am.I never said anything, why should I police him ,but obviously not Srila Prabhupadas standard.
Yes he is a known preacher in ISKCON but why disregard Srila Prabhupada's instructions:
"So far the Advent Day of Lord Caitanya is concerned, I have written a full suggestion to Montreal, in which the main points are that we should all observe strict fasting up till moonrise, and at that time, an offering is made to Lord Caitanya of Ekadasi foods, fruits, peanuts, milk, and so forth. Then, on the next day, Friday the 15th, a full-scale feast is held to celebrate His Advent Day. On the 14th, chanting, reading of Srila Bhaktivinode's book, Life and Precepts and Caitanya Caritamrta, Introduction to Bhagavatam, may be held all the day in the Temple."
