seeing through the eyes of scriptures

My dear Bimal Prasada Prabhu
Please accept my humble obaisences
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
You have asked me again and again to explain more about Madhumangala.I have promised you that after we took darshan of Sri Gopala (Sri Nathaji) in Dubai,
so I have to keep my promise and this is a very dear subject so writting this will also be for selfpurification and go deeper into meditating on the glories pastimes
of Madhumangal .
In Vraja Vilasa Stava by Srila Raghunath das Goswami he has gloriefied Madhumangal:(here is an online copy :http://www.vrindavan-dham.com/texts/vraja_vilasa_stava.php)
24
The personified mellows of comedy, pure-hearted, eternally hungry, jubilant, and splendid Madhumangala daily induces the laughter of his two friends (Sri Sri Radha-Krsna) with a host of comic speeches and gestures. With great devotion let us at once bow down to offer our respect to Madhumangala, the joking friend of Lord Krsna, the moon of Vrndavana.

Madhu means sweet and mangal is auspicious ,Madhumangal is such a sweet and auspicious associate of Radha Krsna, he belongs to the category of what is known as Vidusakha
and Priyanarma sakha.I have a web block about the priyanarma sakhas and I will explain more a bit later.
http://nimaipandit.ning.com/profiles/blogs/please-join-the-priya-narma

I have looked carefully through the Gaura Ganodessa Dipika more than one time and have never found Madhumangal mentiond in Gaura Lila
you can look for yourself http://www.dharmakshetra.com/sages/Saints/ganodesa%20dipika.html
Also in the Caitanya Caritamrta Adi lila chapter 11(http://vedabase.net/cc/adi/11/en) where many of the the associates of Lord Nityananda Prabhu is mentioned I did not find
Madhumangal mentioned

But likely he appeared in Gaura lila also as one of Lord Caitanyas associates:

http://kunjeshwari.com/sweetblog/devotee-contribution/why-we-celebr...
CC Ādi 11.21: All the associates of Lord Nityānanda were formerly cowherd boys in Vrajabhūmi. Their symbolic representations were the horns and sticks they carried, their cowherd dress and the peacock plumes on their heads.

Their mood is explained by the great vaisnava acarya, Govinda dasa Kaviraja wha was in this mood:

Song Name: Bajata Ghana Ghana Benu

TRANSLATION
(Refrain) Again and again He plays the flute. Hai! Hai!", the boys call. "Hamba", the cows moo. Plunged in bliss, the cows walk and graze.

1) Surrounded by His cows, Lord Krsna enjoys pastimes on the Yamuna's banks. The powerful boy-hero Krsna is surrounded by Dama, Sridama, Sudama, and the boys and cows.

2) His friends are like Him in age and garments. His hair is decorated with flowers and a peacock-feather. He wears a jewel necklace and a graceful string ofgunja. Gazing at Him, the people of the world feel their hearts overcome with bliss.

3) His bracelets, anklets, and golden belt jangle. Again and again Govinda dasa's master enjoys pastimes in this way with His friends in the newly-blossoming forest.

Srila Prabhupada also had strong desire for the mood of the cowhered boys ,Srila Prabhupadas godbrother that lived with him for many years
in Allahabad that in his Nitya svarupa he is a priyanarma sakha,I have written something confidential about this, I will share it with you:
http://nimaipandit.ning.com/profiles/blogs/srila-prabhupadas-internal

my humble pranams
all glories to Srila Prabhupada
I have no doubts in my mind Srila Prabhupada is in sakya rasa and I also firmly believe he is a priya narma sakha .Srila Sridhara Swami gave such hint that Srila Prabhupada was in the line of Subal sakha.
In the Vraja Vilasa Stava by Srila Raghunath das Goswami hei s glorified in this way”: TEXT 22
Filled with deep love for him, and anxious that they may be separated, Subala never, even in dream, lets go of the hand of Sri Krsna, the moon of Gokula. Subala’s heart is sprinkled with the waters of the swiftly moving mountain stream of devotion to Srimati Radhika. I offer my respectful obeisances to Subala whose body trembles with love for Sri Sri Radha-Krsna.”
Where was Srila Prabhupadas main temple in Vrindavan, Krna Balarama? You can read the 10 Canto and see how Srila Prabhupada was fully absorbed in those lilas, killing of Aghasura and Brahma Vimohana Lila.Nothing is an accident. or takes place by change.
Would Radha and Krsna not have Srila Prabhupada finished the translation of the Rasa lila , and such lilas of Krsna and the Gopis if that was his Sthaiya Bhava? When Srila Prabhupada was on Jaladuta and he had heart attacks how did he meditate on Vrindavan:

O dear friend, in Your company I will experience great joy once again. In the early morning I will wander about the cowherd pastures and fields. Running and frolicking in the many forests of Vraja, I will roll on the ground in spiritual ecstacy. O when will that day be mine?

Today that remembrance of You came to me in a very nice way. Because I have a great longing I called to You. I am Your eternal servant and therefore I desire Your association so much. O Lord Krsna, except for You there is no other means of success.

yes given Srila Prabhupada also wrote:
I emphatically say to you, O brothers, you will obtain your good fortune from the Supreme Lord Krsna only when Srimati Radharani becomes pleased with you.
He is adressing Krsna as Sakha-dear Cowherd boy and Bhai :brother
the whole mood is sakha and priya narma Sakha.
The argument that Srila Prabhuapadas Guru is Nayana Manjari, so as such he should also be a manjari is false.Gauri das Pandit had a disciple Hridaya Caitanya whowas both in Sakhya bhava (Gauri das Pandit being Subal himself), but Hrday Caitanya disciple was Dukhi Krsna das that later became Shyamananda Pandit, and on who Radharani Herself placed Her Tilaka mark .The question of ones sthiya bhava is revealed by bhakti and confirmed by the advanced sadhus or Guru .We should not rupper stamp that everyone is a manjari and beyond manjari bhava there is no other Rasa, Goloka is not only full of manjaris.Yes some many become Manjaris , but it is not for all. Some devotees will never desire it, but will desire very much to follow the sakhas, as ordinary sakhas or priyanarma sakhas. All the main associates of Lord Nityananda Prabhu was priya narmas sakhas, that a sena pati devotee predicted by Lord Nitayanada Prabhu was a follower of the mood given by Lord Nityananda prabhu ,Sakhya Bhava is not strange at all but makes perfect sense. That those aspiring for manjari bhava may want to see Srila Prabhupada in manjari bhava is another story, this can happen as mentioned in Jaiva dharma, where the 2 disciples sees their Guru according to their specific rasa…but it does not change the fact that Srila Prabhupada is a priya narma sakha.I have no doubt about it for a second.

Payonidhi das

so there is mainly 4 kinds of Sakhas (1) well-wishers, (2) friends, (3) confidential friends and (4) intimate friends ,I have posted the link above from my webblock
http://nimaipandit.ning.com/profiles/blogs/please-join-the-priya-narma if you have any questions about the 4 kinds of cowherd boys ,Suhrit sakhas,Sakhas, priya sakhas and priyanarma sakhas , the priyanarma sakhas also brings messages between Radha and Krsna.Madhumangal is also in that catagory, but he is also known as a vidusakha and makes Krsna Balarama, and the cowhered boys laugh ,all the different kinds of Gopis and Sri Radha and all devotees in Vrindavan, actually even all devotees in the material and
spiritual world when they laugh at the many jokes of Madhumangal:

TRANSLATION
1) Just worship Sri Gaurahari, who is always affectionate toward His devotees. He is the same Supreme Godhead, Krsna, who sported in the cowherd pastures of Vraja and stole the hearts of Nanda and Yasoda.

2) Mother Yasoda calls to Krsna, "My dear Damodara, it is very late. Please come right now, sit down in the dining hall, and take Your lunch."

3) On the direction of Nanda Maharaja, Krsna, the holder of Govardhana Hill, sits down, and then all the cowherd boys, along with Krsna's elder brother, SriBaladeva, sit down in rows to take their lunch.

4) They are then served a feast of sukta and various kinds of green leafy vegetables, then nice fried things, and a salad made of the green leaves of the jute plant. They are also served pumpkin, baskets of fruit, small square cakes made of lentils and cooked down milk, then thick yogurt, squash cooked in milk, and vegetable preparations made from the tower of the banana tree.

5) Then they receive fried squares of mung dahl patties, and urad dahl patties, capatis, and rice with ghee. Next, sweets made with milk, sugar andsesamum, rice flour cakes; thick cooked-down milk; cakes floating in milk; and sweet rice.

6) There is also sweet rice that tastes just like nectar due to its being mixed with camphor. There are bananas, and cheese which is nectarean and delicious. They are also served twelve kinds of sour preparations made with tamarinds, limes, lemons, oranges, and pomegranates.

7) There are puns made with white flour and sugar; puns filled with cream; laddus; and dahl patties boiled in sugared rice. Krsna eagerly eats all of the food.

8) In great ecstasy and joy Krsna eats the rice, curried vegetables, sweets, and pastries cooked by Srimati Radharani.

9) Krsna's funny brahmana friend Madhumangala, who is very fond of Laddus, gets them by hook or by crook. Eating the laddus he shouts, "Haribol!Haribol!~' and makes a funny sound by swapping his sides under his armpits with his hands.

10) Beholding Radharani and Her gopifriends out of the courters of His eyes, Krsna eats at the house of mother Yasoda with great satisfaction.

11) After lunch, Krsna drinks rose-scented water. Then all of the boys, standing in lines, wash their mouths.

12) After all the cowherd boys wash their hands and mouths, in great bliss they take rest with Lord Balarama.

13) The two cowherd boys Jambula and Rasala then bring Krsna pan made with betel nuts, fancy spices, and catechu. After eating that pin, Sri Krsnacandrathen happily goes to sleep.

14) While Krsna happily takes His rest on an excellent bedstead, His servant Visalaksa cools Him with a fan of peacock feathers.

15) At mother Yasoda's request the gopi Dhanistha brings remnants of food left on Krsna's plate to Srimati Radharani, who eats them with great delight

16) Lalita-devi and the other gopis then receive the remnants, and within their hearts they sing the glories of Radharani and Krsna with great joy.

17) Thakura Bhaktivinoda, whose one and only Joy is the pastimes of Lord Hari, sings this Bhoga-arati song

please pay note to these 2 verses:

8) In great ecstasy and joy Krsna eats the rice, curried vegetables, sweets, and pastries cooked by Srimati Radharani.

9) Krsna's funny brahmana friend Madhumangala, who is very fond of Laddus, gets them by hook or by crook. Eating the laddus he shouts, "Haribol!Haribol!~' and makes a funny sound by swapping his sides under his armpits with his hands.

This pastime is a summary of Krsnas breakfast pastime in Nandagrama in the morning

In order to not make it to long I will divide it into 2 or 3 parts.
This is a very confidential subject and not for envious persons, they will not understand and simply find many faults .
,I believe you both will find it very nectarean

I hope this will inpire you in remembering Madhumangal
