Srila Prabhupada  once ordered to close the temples in the west and send everyone on bookdistribution of course now a days sometimes many persons comes to some temples so this is mostly not possible but Prabhupada wanted everyone on bookdistribution not sitting and doing nothing as we sometimes see in some temples just talking prajalpa , I was once sankirtana leader in a big temple and a mataji told another what should we watch today Oprah Windfried or  Michael Jordans and the Bulls basketball game. I used to pressure devotees to go on bookdistribution at least once a week ,it is actually a GBC law not implemented by the GBC themselves if they showed by example it would be powerful .If all TPs in ISKCON would go out on bookdistribution  and take the temple with them imagine how many people will soon join  ISKCON? Srila Prabhupada said the whole world  can become Krsna conscious in 18 days, imagine all temples leaving minimum crew for 18 days during Marathons alone how many more books can be distributed ?
